Drive safely, drink in moderation, love without moderation. You know the drill.

spent 7+ hours helping out with various aspects at church services, then drinks and (too much) eats.
somehow our tradition is to have spaghetti for our Christmas Eve meal, and to keep the tradition alive, Runner daughter picked some up at Fazoli's before they closed for the evening.
got to bed at 12:30 after opening presents and waiting for the dog to wind down again. Belgian waffles and bacon for breakfast. And what did I get for Christmas under there? Yes, underwear.
hope you're all having a Merry Christmas!
Miss SBG woke up at 5 AM. She was extremely excited. Wife got a new camera. I get to buy my own present, which I will. I know exactly what I am getting. I am also going to build a work bench in my garage this week. Plans found, materials to be purchased tomorrow.
I am comfortably ensconced in a day of NBA action -- it's faaaaaantastic. The Girl and I will be making vegan pizzas (ok, flatbreads) tonight.
We had friends over on sunday for Indian food (yellow dal, bihari green beans, rice, and naan). And this, this and of course this.
I thought that the Crispin was excellent. The womenfolk did not like it, but the menfolk were pleased. It has a rich, appley flavor, some spice from the Trappist yeast, and a faint hint of maple. A sophisticated hard cider.
The Affligem Noel is, as the Brothers say, exceptional. Smooth, rich, creamy, with fruit, chocolate, spice.
and, as I've (and Buffalo) noted before, this year's Anchor christmas ale is outstanding.
I found one of these in the stocking. Review forthcoming later this week.
Ooooh.
I got one lined up for tomorrow, but the more's the merrier, hitman! And that one is definitely merry.
We wants it, our precioussssssss.
Who's idea were these uniforms? Knocks look like clowns, Lakers, well, those are just awful.
serious. I cant make out the numbers/names on the jersey.
Marcus Camby? Is this 2002?
Amare with a teardrop tattoo. Who did he kill, besides Mike D'antoni's coaching tenure in NY?
I love the new WGOM banner with all the signatures on it.
Doogie with an awesome nugget
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
In addition to Brent Lillibridge as a free agent utility guy I know the #MNTwins have talked to, add Yuniesky Betancourt to the list.
I normally don't worry too much about a utility guy, except I just know if Yuni is signed, that he'll be the starting SS by midseason, assuming no other options are brought in.
Yup, that's a nugget in the punchbowl. I'm getting excited about the rebuild now!
Words I never expected to hear from Jeff van gundy: "carmelo is, by far, the Knicks' most efficient offensive player."
Amazingly, with Steve Nash back, Pau Gasol suddenly is a very good player again.
Kevin Lover, Pek and 2 first rounders for Gasol!!!
Only 11 points, but big impact today.
13. Great finish by Gasol. Or Gasoline, as Droid calls him.
I expect Kobe Bryant's expression after that decision to be in gif form all over the internets.
so these ugly NBA uniforms continue with the Thunder/Heat game.
puke
these monochrome uniforms all the teams are wearing today are awful
they might look kinda cool up close, but when a casual fan like me is trying to watch the game and not being able to see the numbers or names on the jersey, I just cant watch it. Maybe Im weird
This was a good Christmas that could have been great if only I'd been able to sleep last night. I woke up at 3 or 4 AM and never fell back asleep. Ugh.
The Milklings were very satisfied with their hauls, and I got a carboy and two nice brewing kits (Surly Cynic and a black IPA).
Drive safely, dudes. I said that above, but I really, really mean it.
For the CdL regulars out there, make sure you visit the site and see the awesome "12 Days of Milkmas" video that Ryan made (if you're not a regular there, you won't get any of the references).
This was probably the quietest Christmas I've ever had. Santa gifts and then mass in the AM, good cheeses/sausages/crackers/pastries/fruits for a light brunch that grew more sizable as I just kept eating. MIL and FIL came over to hang out (in-law Christmas at their place was this past weekend... no one around any more, so they came to us. A first.) and afternoon naps were had. French onion soup and crock pot chicken for dinner, then out to see the Mankato Holiday Lights display (again... 4th time. It's pretty awesome.). Apple cider upon our return and probably heading to bed early for once. It's incredibly strange to have such a quiet holiday (I'm one of 13 kids, both of my parents are one of 9, my wife is one of 6, both of her parents are one of 9... there are always people around), but I had a good time.

It would seem not everyone agrees.
Oy.
