I had this idea for a great question to ask of all the WGOM as I was wandering the floor at work a couple of days ago. Now I can't remember what it was, so never mind.

So, is there another foreigner on the Wolves for me to get all Shveddy about?
We skated after the rink closed yesterday for more than two hours, until about 2 AM, then went to the bar until it closed at 4. I haven't done that in a looong time. I forgot this feeling, and don't exactly miss it.
I'm rebuilding the fence (ok, replacing posts and hoping to just put the panels back on) with grampaS tomorrow. Who wants to come help? I have a case of Ruthless Rye to help you operate the posthole digger.
Gotta work.
so, uh, why exactly are we supposed to feel sorry for Mike Matheny?
Well, I feel sorry for him in that he seems to be in quite a mess financially. The fact that our messes are no one's fault but our own does not make them less messy, nor does it make them any easier to get out of. It's too bad that he's in this situation, even if it's his own fault that he's there.
Worth mentioning for context, even if it gets us close to the Forbidden Zone:
I'm not excusing Mike Matheny for taking dumb business risks, but it's worth noting that the bank who (essentially) turned him out of his house took larger risks and was bailed out.
Pat Reusse writes about Caleb Thielbar
Thielbar-Thielbar! Clap! Clap! Clapclapclap!
Link isn't working - got a "404 Error" message.
Story here.
Thanks for the heads-up wattsy!
For enduring nine innings of constant heckling from about 50 drunks (including CoC and me) for absolutely no reason two summers ago, Thielbar became a personal favorite. I would LOVE to see him make the Twins.
I love the Buffalo Sabres jersey
script or crossed swords in a circle?
The slug was, well, interesting.

Stan Musial died
his 1948 season is ridiculous
You know, this season has been rough as a Wolves fan, but man, at least we aren't Laker fans.
Last minute decision to day-trip - went to the JFK Presidential library in Boston today.
New for me: 1) Jackie K. was only 31 as 1st lady, but was an accomplished equestrian; 2) Kennedy had Addington's disease and had a major surgery for a war injury years after the war; 3) their first child died stillborn; their next two were via C-section; 4) Sputnik was just a sphere (23 in. diameter) with four spiny legs - after ascent it spent 3 months in orbit; 5) things were REALLY heated up with the Cuban missile crisis - both sides were LOCK and LOAD - people buying up canned goods en masse for the worst, etc.; 6) no mention of Marilyn Monroe in the JFK-Pr.Li. hehe.
A lot of recent upgrades to the library with J.O. interview updates that had been locked away and only opened to the public recently. Nice spot overlooking Boston Harbor - 5 minutes from downtown. I recommend.
I can't believe after the lockout that the NHL isn't allowing any kind of free preview for watching games online. That is beyond ridiculous. I was ready to get excited about the Wild but I can't even watch any games at all. Way to be clueless NHL.
I thought the same thing yesterday as I was was all jacked for hockey after the Kings-Blackhawks/Flyers-Penguins on NBC. I wanted to see the Avs-Wild and thought, surely they'll have a free week of previews to get people back into it.
boo-urns. :/
if you are hankering for a hockey fix NBCSN has Phoenix/Chicago on late
