  3. Philosofette and the kids just surprised me at work with a balloon and candy and card and stuff. I've felt like commenting on here lately how awesome my wife is. I know that most (all?) of you feel similarly about your own relationships. But it always strikes me as amazing that such a little dweeb as myself can be loved by someone as beautiful and intelligent as my wife. Valentines day was never really my thing, but it's as good a time as any to take a look around and appreciate the miracle that is the love in our lives.

    to me, it doesnt sound like a they have a lot confidence in what they have

    1. Pretty bizarre. It sounds like he had a bunch of weapons in his house for "protection" even though he was in a compound protected by armed guards. He even told a reporter he still didn't feel safe because the guards could be "in on it." I guess crime is pretty rampant in South Africa, but he still sounds pretty paranoid. Wouldn't surprise me if mental illness was involved in this case.

  14. something crazy is happening in Russia. apparently a metorite flashed across the sky and debris hit a bunch of buildings in a town. there is some pics on your favorite news site/twitter feed

    I turn to CNN and they are showing a crfuise ship being tugged to shore.
