My favorite people at work are almost all on vacation and I've got a schedule this week that isn't seeing-my-kids friendly. I need to get this iPad app made and successful so I can feel like I didn't miss their childhood.

a potentially interesting assault on patent law. [not Forbidden Zoney per se -- mostly a straight news story on a case; I though various Citizens would find it of interest]
From Chris Jaffe:
15,000 days ago... the Minnesota-Ohio State basketbrawl (involving Dave Winfield) happened.
This from yesterday from Jaffe:
What ever happened to that guy, anyway?
Flamed out after a couple of years. Pretty physically talented, but couldn't hit a curveball. The pathway to the majors is littered with guys like him.
Trouble with the Curve? Take it to the movie post!
Wow. I vaguely remember that event (not that I saw it). the Goofs had a really good team: Jim Brewer, Ron Behagen.
Where are they now?
nice to see that some of the wounds did heal eventually.
Heard this great quote from someone who was visiting the French Quarter: "I hope Jesus doesn't return now, because he's not looking for anyone here!"
I may have been the person saying that.
Well, someone at the Friday fish fry heard you!
So, yeah, putting a crappy product on the field for a couple of years straight and all but conceding 2013 has made the phrase "Good seats are still available" part of the lexicon in earnest.
Not that they're happy about it, but I assume the front office expected that. If they get things turned around in 2014 and 2015, the fans will come back. If they don't, well, I remember when the Twins were regularly drawing under 10,000 in the late '90s.
Jerry Buss is dead.
RIP.
He was definitely in the right place at the right time as an owner.
I wonder if Jeanie and the Zen Master have a pre-nup, or is he going to become an owner now?
It's cold out there, but signs of spring are out there. First, there's a little melting going on every once in a while. Second, the annual fawning has begun. The problem is that this guy has been toiling in obscurity for years. We need to rediscover him!
On a related note, I heard Scott Korzenowski suggest on 1500ESPN this weekend that this poor, underappreciated fellow is a likely PED candidate, given his late career resurgence. Perish the thought.
I am racing to get oranges off my trees before they start flowering.
Roses have started to send out shoots. the Fragrance Garden at the CA State Library has been "fragrant" lately with new blooms. Spring is springing.
I've had some bad gas this morning; heads up, Milwaukee!
I watched 0 minutes of the NBA All Star Weekend, but twitter says the Saturday night events ( dunk contest) was even more lame than other years. Perhaps is time to rotate that event out and put in a game of Horse. Heck, they could spell out the name of the sponsor (K-I-A to make the game quick). Then do the dunk contest the year following.
CC to DW: New Phoenix single is streaming. It's pretty tasty.

thanks for the link
Not bad. It's no Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, but that's an absurdly high standard.
Agreed. Lisztomania and 1901 are two of my favorite pop songs of the last five years.
Personally I'd say "Lisztomania and 1901" are one of my favorite pop songs of the last five years, as they're substantially similar enough to me. Kind of like when Franz Ferdinand came out, and I loved it, but picking one song over any of the others was kind of absurd.
The Bill Russell doc on NBA tv featuring Sporty Simmons is pretty enjoyable.
