Go Twins!
Hopefully Pelfrey has the same
stuffrun support as his last few outings. And doesn't hit the wall hardthe Hitting Machine is enabled (Not A Double mode)
First run!
Pretty ugly AB by Arcia
Does anyone else worry that Gardy's effusive praise of his "agressive" approach (get-after-itedness), while saying nothing of the patient ways of the Mauer's and even Hicks's on the team, is going to hamper his growth as a hitter?
yes, but hopefully he can find a way to be "aggressive" and still recognize a ball out of the zone.
I hope so, too, but 22 year olds are not known for their wisdom or awareness.
right
ESCOBAR'd!!
So its gonna be one of those games.
Donger!
Again, not a homer. Escobar now tied with Mauer even.
Mauer is some good cheese.
The wall seems to be approaching quickly.
That's what Bryce Harper said.

I am really digging this announcer-less feed, but last night mc deemed it "creepy"
no creepier than Dazzle, though
Solo home runs don't hurt you.
Sorta like Death by 1000 Papercuts.
Oh ya?
The Pelfrey-ing continues...
(Young pitcher, please.)
Pretty please.
sorry, I don't have much confidence that DPWY could do better.
It seems odd to me that Mauer's career long hitting streak is only 16 games.
My recollection is that Rod Carew didn't have a lot of long hitting streaks, either. He'd have lots of two- and three-hit games, but every once in a while would take an oh-fer.
Carew's longest was 25 games. Next longest was 19 games while three times reaching 18 games.
I think part of the reason is that Mauer doesnt get long hit streaks is that he will have an 0-2, 2 walk game every once in a while.
Yep. Patient hitters rarely have long streaks for that reason. Also, when Mauer's really hot, he'll get intentionally walked a lot with a RISP and first base open.
No worries about anyone on base with the leadoff batter having a .231 OBP. Although the ninth batter's .304 OBP is likely to be on second thanks to being bunted over.
*feels warning track under feet*
*reaches back for the wall; hits it hard*
Sheepshank coming on about 3 batters too late. As usual.
Groundskeeper Slapstick in line for the non-loss
Boy this is fun.
Cole DeVries makes a rehab start for Rochester today. Assuming he's ready to go and comes back to Minnesota, is there any chance the Twins make a move with Pelfrey or Vanimal? Or do they just ship Hernandez out because that's the easiest move to make?
I think it'll be H right now still. Worley isn't going anywhere, and Pelfrey doesn't look completely lost. I think they take the easy move for at least the next 2-3 weeks. Then maybe someone gets Marquis'd.
They all sound like good moves to me
Coach McKay, what do you think about the execution of your offense?
McKay: "I'm in favor of it."
Is there a stat for blown rally opportunities? If not, I'm inventing one. I'm going to call it the BRO.
That's a clown stat, BRO.
Zing!
LOL*
*and I don't use that often
So it goes along nicely with a BOSO.
Dang, something out of that would have been nice
I was going to say something similar after the
1st2nd3rd...I was going to say that.THAT'S a double!
Ho, hum. Mauer hits a double.
Pfft. No RBI. Willingham is a run producer.
Productive outs. That's the key. Anybody can get base hits.
0 RBI's for Joe. Bum.
Damn, that's a bit unlucky for Morneau
In play, out(s). Sweet.
In play, run(s). Dammit.
Keppinger? Oy.
Failed rally followed by give back runs. Feels bad man.
Dazzle calls this a "slow and methodical" game. Synonym: boring
I would suggest we stop throwing Adam Dunn belt-high fastballs in the middle of the plate.
And with that, I'm gonna go do something else.
This is starting to suck.
Joe Schultz used to have a phrase that covered games like this. I guess we'll just have to settle for 143-19!
Jeff A wins the wgom today!
here you go, Jeff A, one wgom:
