Go Twins!
I wonder how long people will think Howard is good. Bert was extolling his run producing abilities before the game.
And last night Bert was extolling Michael Young's defensive abilities. It's all relative.
Howard is good. Just not THAT good.
Robot umps!
Morneau tagged Revere. Didnt the home plate ump see that?
So my softball game was "rained out" tonight because the field was underwater. It's too bad because one of my teammates is brothers with a reliever for the Tigers, and Detroit just got to town. We would have had a serious ringer.
It's Jose Valverde, isn't it?
Please tell me it's Jose Valverde.
Well this is turning into a Pelfreyesque start.
so the 'safe' call has led to two runs
So are those "unearned" runs, due to E-umpire?
OK, if Cloyd is pitching, shouldn't Gidney be catching.
Jeremy Cloyd looks tough tonight.
No K for Klete!
I think Escobar thought he hit that 475 feet.
in game reading: Breaking Down the Success of Twins Prospect Byron Buxton
That's a horrid font in the graphics.
Looks like "Byron Buxbon Spray Charb"
Dick Bremer talking about when he was a kid, the kids of the town would get hand me down bats and have to wrap up cracked bats with electrical tape.
Funny, I did the same thing when I was a kid except it was duct tape.
Twins are going to need some runs. This would be a great inning to start.
OOOOH straighten that one out.
Run through that stop sign!
Dangerous move for a rookie, given how much Gardenhire likes to rag on them.
But he's aggressive at the plate, which Gardy loves.
coolcoolcool
Trader Clete!!/?!?
I'm not sure why Cloyd threw him a strike. Clete was showing a willingness to swing at absolutely anything.
One of my friends posted this on facebook. I'm reposting it here because you all love math.
http://www.businessinsider.com/the-most-controversial-math-problems-2013-3
And as a special bonus, I've included #13, which was inexplicably snubbed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_positive_paradox
Also, you all need something to take your mind off of the unpleasant way that last inning ended.
...and the unpleasant way this inning is ending.
Damn Monty Hall problem.
what is controversial about the false positive paradox? And why is it a paradox? It seems pretty obvious that there would be a lot of rare conditions that, if we tested randomly (without respect to symptoms), a lab test would have a pretty good chance of producing more false positives than true positives.
Well, most people would say if you had a test that was 99% accurate that if you tested positive, that you'd probably have the disease--not that you were still highly unlikely to have it.
Hey, let's start a three-day flame war on the Monty Hall problem!
I've seen it happen other places. (Okay, we don't do flame wars here: three day debate?)
That really should be in there with politics as a topic verboten in polite company.
well, that was a buzzkill
what a coincidence! at my local vietnamese restaurant, a #62 is "phi at min"!
Is it a cheese curd steak sandwich?
Is this an actual thing? I want this to be a thing that I am eating.
Howard thrown out from right field. Makes sense.
Hee hee! Just your usual 4-1 out at first.
Bert did just call the pitcher "Slavery," right? I'm not imagining that...
he said it again.
signs of life here
although nothing like a bunt to put it on life support
Cleeete
Arcia has been super aggressive on the basepaths tonight
You are tearing me apart
LisaJamey!I can live with this version of Mike Pelfrey
oh my :/
Boston and Chicago went from 2-1 to 3-3 in the time it took me to get home from Irish class.
Woo hoo!
Heh. Mauer would've thrown it square in Escobar's back and gotten the interference call.
CLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEETE
should have gave Florimon the ol bunt sign and moved the runner to second
TWINS BASEBALL!!TWINS BASEBALL!!TWINS BASEBALL!!!
TWINS BASEBALL!!TWINS BASEBALL!!!TWINS BASEBALL!!
The Dazzle Special!
TWINS BASEBALL
Sorry, guys. My bad.

Pups, fireworks, Clete Thomas?
more like this:
that was a quick finish.
Glad I stuck with that.
Bo Jackson is shilling 5 Hour Energy. He looks old and thus makes me feel old.
I fell asleep. I'm glad Clete is a trader to are team.
Just like we all expected, Mike Pelfrey pitched a fine game and Clete Thomas got four hits to lead the Twins to victory. It's a simple plan, but effective. We're still on track for 129-33!
I think it's hilarious that, despite having four hits, Clete had some of the ugliest swings (outside of Michael Young's in the eighth). Clete apparently will not get cheated and is going to swing ridiculously hard at everything.
ESPN's crawl last night did not include Trader Clete's 4-4 game as a highlight of the Twins's win, mentioning Arcia for the Twins and Revere for the Phils.
