Game 69: Twins vs. WhiteSox

DAY GAME ALERT!!!!

Going for the SWEEEEEEEEEEEEP!

Scott Diamond vs. John Danks

I would say that one of the best parts about Baseball is the draft. Specifically the fact that it's not held until the middle of next year and the players won't make an impact for years down the line. When watching a bad Timberwolves or Vikings team it's easy to root for a loss to get better draft position. With a bad Twins team I can still always hope for a win. Especially against the White Sox.

SWEEEEEEEEEEP!!!

  1. Just saw the video of Arcia's homer. So, those flagpoles are his now, right? Or will they always belong to Thome?

  2. If you had Clete Thomas and Eduardo Escobar hitting back-to-back home runs today, you just cashed in big time.

  3. Danks is trying to give everybody a homer. Has there ever been a game where all the starters had a HR?

    1. According to play index, there are only 2 games with >=9 HR in one game - BAL-TOR 1987 and CIN-PHI 1999.

In the Toronto game, Whitt had 3, Mulliniks and Bell both had 2, and McGriff and Moseby had one each (one more HR was hit of the bench by Ducey)

In the Cincinnati game, six starters had a HR, and two men off the bench did. The only non-pitching starters w/o a HR were Larkin and Sean Casey.

  4. Was at the card shop during lunch today (owner had the Twins game on for me), and he was opening the new Topps series 2 at the time and pulled a Scott Diamond autograph card. Another fine addition to the collection

          1. Enough left in the tank to really smash into the wall, instead of coasting into it.

  5. Was the wind blowing in for that fly ball? Gameday says it just missed clearing the wall.

        1. He could have 4 ribbies with those plate appearances if he wasn't such a pansy singles hitter!!1!

  6. I think this strategy of scoring runs in more than just the first couple of innings is a better way to go about things.

  7. This isn't all Burton's fault, but I don't understand why Perkins isn't in the game now.

    1. I think to be a hold, it has to be a possible save situation when you enter the game.

    1. Turns out, big-league blood runs in the ball boy's veins. He's the younger brother of Oakland Athletics pitcher Pat Neshek, who marveled on Twitter about Lil Bro's grab.

  8. watching the replay, I loved Danks reaction when he gave up the Escobar HR. looks like he wanted to rip his glove off his hand and stomp on it

  9. Keep those brooms out, boys, we're gonna need 'em! We're still on track for 126-36!
