so Pitbull has a song that is basically a reworked version of 'Take On Me'
gotcha.
I hope A-Ha got paid some royalties.
Robinson Cano booed pretty hard. LOL
Not half as bad as last year.
Im going to pick Cespedes to win this thing.
My interest in the home run derby is even less than my interest in the all-star game, and my interest in the all-star game is pretty minimal. The advantage to this is that I won't have to listen to Chris Berman tonight. Still, to each his own. If you enjoy it, I hope you have a good time watching it.
Watching it is fun. Listening, not so much.
Bingo. I can't stand Berman, but I get into this in spite of myself.
So much fun watching the kids come feet away from almost catching it.
"Cuddyer does it the right way." Man, that hype machine.
Cuddyer up now. "He does it the right way" according to Berman.
TWINS BASEBALL!!!!
Cuddyer very close to hitting the truck in left-center. That would have been cool, especially if he succeeded in hitting the windshield.
Just realized that Cuddyer switched to wearing number 3 when he signed with the Rockies in honor of Killebrew.
Yep, that was news to me.
good showing for the former Twin
I fully expect Sano to win ten straight derbies.
Cespedes with a Vlad swing. Hit a home run right before it was about to bounce on home plate.
oh my goodness! WAY over the truck
Cespedes can hit baseballs a long way.
if Cespedes is in next years HR Derby, I think he might hit it over the LF grandstand
Edit: I accidentally typed what Berman should have said before. That probably looked confusing.
Old Hoss Radbourn @OldHossRadbourn
The 1891 Home Run Darbye finished in an exciting 0-0-0-0 tie, with 2 maimed, 1 fatality (RIP), and 3 balls hit all the way to the out field.
Robbie Cano should have picked a Twins pitcher to toss him meatballs
I wonder how many times it will be mentioned next year that Target Field is hard to hit home runs in.
I think the concrete will have dried fully by then.
Just need to turn on the fans!!!!
Cuddy makes it to round two.
Cuddy so, so close to hitting the truck in left-center.
Replay shows he hit the hood.
Cuddy with another eight home runs to finish the first two rounds with 15 homers.
All young-guy final. Cespedes isn't even in the All-Star Game. Funny.
Cespedes hits the other truck at the top of the windshield.
Matt Harvey asks New Yorkers what they think of Matt Harvey.

Fantastic.

Was visiting at my LCS*, and the owner and I had this idea: no one wants to hit in the HR Derby, right? Why not have guys like Dunn, Konerko, Pujols, Giambi, Soriano, etc. from the active HR leaders participate? They're not in the AS Game, they're not going to "screw up their swings" (it IS their swing) -- win-win.

Today has got to be the most useless day of the year in terms of daily newspaper sports sections. Today's above-the-fold headline in the SacBee was about how Clay Kershaw was "upset" by Bruce Bochy being quoted as saying that Matt Harvey had "earned" the AS Game start by his performance in the first half even if the game weren't being held in NYC. Oy.
This exists, guys.
Her?

Hard speed?

Cuddy eliminated by Harper's 16th homer.
