Finally a game I will be able to stay up late enough to watch. Except I will be at the end of a move and internet access may or may not be enabled yet. I hope to come back to an awesome gamelog.

Took the wife here for our delayed anniversary celeb (26 clicks, pallos).
2T Not bad - she had the veal saltimbocca, me the hangar steak.
Way I remember our marriage year is the Twins winning the World Series - thank you TK!
I remember that year, too. Santa Claus was good to me and I was excited about joining Little League
Get off my lawn.
Looks nice, and congratulations. So, 1987 or 1991?
87
That's the year my wife and I started dating. A very good year indeed.
ditto
I use the WS reference too, the Mrs. & I were married in '91. Tomorrow will be 22 years.
Congrats, Rows!
Thanks and same to you NBB!

Ryan Doumit had a hot start to June, but since June 9th, he has a slash line of .238/.290/.308/.598 and only has 1 HR (155 plate appearances)
Too bad I waited until July 8th to drop him off my fantasy team.
Is it just me, or does Raul Ibanez with a chaw look an awful lot like Spoonto?
Blanco vs. Butera! Are we sure this is a major league game?
is Livan Hernandez pitching?
I like how we have three catchers on the roster and all three are in the lineup.
I like how we have only two outfielders on the roster so that one of the catchers has a defensive position to man.
Ipso facto.
Eh, they could drop a pitcher out of the bullpen to call up an outfielder if they have one that they aren't trying to teach a lesson to.
Replace could with should and we're on the same page.
I just realized that while writing a comment below. Bench: Colabello, Bernier, Plouffe. This might be the worst depth the team has had since the '90s.
A Dialogue on 3 Catchers:
Q. What's the point in having 3 catchers?
A. If one catcher starts the game as the DH and that day's catcher is injured, then you must lose the DH to replace your catcher. (Potential downside: you might score 20 runs even if you lose the DH.)
Q What's the point in having 3 catchers if none of them is going to DH?
A. Wait, Doumit is DH'ing tonight? Really, they couldn't go 5 days without DH'ing Doumit in order to avoid calling up Butera?
This is why we miss you so much, ubes.
That's what I'm saying.
Thanks, Twayn. I just moved (within town) earlier this month and we splurged on cable, so I have a better chance of catching the Twins if they are on MLB Network or elsewhere. (Or playing the Mariners, like tonight.) And of course, I'll be able to see them in the first round of the playoffs on TBS.
so far, Herrmann has played 5 games at C and 5 games in the OF. If there is an injury, slide him from OF to C.
That's nice versatility.
I suppose there chances of Butera and Herrmann both getting hurt in the same game are fairly slim, but I'm surprised that didn't keep Gardy from starting them both in the same game with Doumit at DH.
as recently as last Sunday, Gardy trotted out Herrman C, Mauer DH, Doumit RF
so he is not against using the 3 catcher/hybrid lineup
If any two position players get injured, they are in danger of having to play a pitcher in the field.
I nominate Roenicke.
Who?
Team leader in blown holds.
I bet Deduno would be pretty good
Counterpoint: The presence of Butters also increases the depth of our bullpen.
Maybe if he got hurt pitching, we wouldn't keep him on the 40-man.
Dazzle: Twin first in small-ball'ery. Geesh.
That canard always gets spewed when we can't muster any power hitting.
OMG, you guys, is that Butters?
Neato, right guys?
Butera is my kryptonite. I try to ignore the (s)crappy players, but I can't get past his presence. The Twins calling him up is the equivalent of that random girl you convince to play on your co-ed softball team even though she's never played softball, just so you don't have to forfeit.
Go Random Girl!
Nice wiggle, Scotty.
1/2 marathon training starts at 8 bells tomorrow - nite dudes.
Run silent, run deep.
Reminds me of the submarine movies where the captain takes the boat below where specs say they can run and the pipes are bursting, hands running back and forth with wrenches. A few have to be sacrificed due to the tilt underwater. Classic sub movie.
Good luck. I also plan to do 8-10 in the morning.
former Twins great (although that one year....yikes!) Jim Deshaies is the color guy for the Cubs on WGN. He is spouting off things like LOB% and the luck involved. crazy.
Just joined the game a few minutes ago. Mariner feed is focusing on Bend, Oregon for some reason that was probably spelled out when the game started. They talked for a bit about Deschutes brewery (specifically Mirror Pond) for a while.
HUMAN UMPIRES!
Twins got a break from the ump there. wow
The call was wrong, but in the bigger picture, the Twins totally botched the DP.
Yeah, this inning should be over.
For once, the stupid transfer rule benefits the Twins.
Brendan Harris going to the Yankees
well, Scranton
[Redacted] Yankees
Butters likes doing the "keep the ball down" dance.
Whoa. Diamond's head was down, I looked up and I thought I saw Blackburn. Oy.
Pretty good throw home by Clete.
Fear the Trader!
Brendan Ryan Does Not Run On Clete Thomas -- BRDNROCT
Insurmountable?
How is Seattle's bullpen?
Oy, Felix at 49 pitches through 5 innings. The bullpen won't matter tonight.
Nothing special good or bad, but I'm not so sure the Twins will get to the bullpen.
Yeah, I should have checked the pitch count before asking.
this Franklin guy is getting on my nerves.
Is Nick Franklin wearing the safer batting helmet (rated to a higher pitch speed) or is his head just tiny? I can't convince myself one way or the other though I am leaning towards the former.
Every time I see somebody with the double ear flap helmet, I swear they have a tiny head.
I feel like this is a new development--Knoblauch had the double-flap and the flaps seemed pretty thin and flimsy.
Biggio did it too and his head looked TINY!
Oh man, googling Biggio resulted in this masterpiece.
Googling Biggio should be the name of a band.
I'm watching Hernandez and can't stop thinking that I miss Neck Tat.
Am I the only one who still calls Felix "FHer"?
I hope so.
You may have been the only one who ever called him that.
Well who's fault is that?
I'll tell you who--Casilla.

Okay, everyone sees the beautiful weather on the TV? I'm going to go hang out at a park with some friends, drink some beer, and enjoy that weather. If the Twins come back to win this, I will not regret the Butera PAs that I will miss.
Good night, Gracie.
Mariners feed helpfully shows me this:
Um...I think you can just say "one run," guys.
They could maybe clarify whose offense, too.
What about all the times they score half a run?
See, this is why you're the math guy.
the modern day Bert Blyleven? (ok, Blyleven has fifteen 1-0 shutout wins, which is pretty wow)
So, we can look forward to decades of Felix as a Mariners commentator, mocking young pitchers for their reliance on the strikeout!
well, we dont know the answer to the question of 'Does King Felix <3 to fart?'
Jeebus, Felix must have chunks of Twins hitters in his stool.
That's a ... graphic image. I did laugh, though.
I plagiarized it from Phil Hartman doing Sinatra.
tough stretch for the Twins with nemesis Jared Weaver and King Felix in the span of 3 games.
Superman Aaron Hicks! wowee!
Great minds think alike. So do ours, apparently.
You sir, were on a roll tonight. This one had me in stitches.
It's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's, it's, it's SuperHicks!
HICKS! GOOD GOD
Early sleepers, find this play online today.
rally nachos?
Felix is one of the only guys that's so good, I want to applaud even when my own guys strike out against him. Though I probably wouldn't if my team was better.
Im just glad the Twins only face him once or twice a year.
I would hate him if he was in the same division and have to see him 4,5,6 times
I...might, although I admit I sorta liked Cheeseburger when he was with Cleveland. But any idiot can sell out Cleveland for money, so screw him.
Art Modell started a real trend, eh?
Tin-eared dumb-f(*&s, one and all.
People laugh when I tell them someday I'm going to make a pilgrimage to dance on Art Modell's grave. But I'm not joking.
If people like us - not from Cleveland - feel that way, he's got it coming.
what kind of parade does Seattle have? they have to play a baseball game in the day, thus blacking out everyone because its not of the FOX mothership.
Looks like something called Seafair.
where did that come form?
Plouffe!!!!!!
The Ploufferdoodle!
My feed is clearly well behind, since he just flailed sadly at strike two...
...aw, hell yeah.
Holy hell, what just happened?
The highly improbable.
I was just thinking when Florimon was up that it would be nice to have someone on the bench that could pinch-hit for him. Well played, Gardy.
Sac bunt was key.
is furbush wearing capris?
Knickerbockers.
Trader put a good swing on that ball but got just a little bit under it.
Extra-inning West Coast night games kind of suck, even on a Friday night.
We're still half an hour short of the first LAAAAA game, which finished in regulation. That was brutal.
Nice outcome, though.
Nothing against the outcome.
ACK
nice play by M's thirdbasedude
what a double play! nicce!!!!
Oh, that was a sweet double play, 3-6-3. Well done, boys.
I'm really starting to think that Florimon needs Gold Glove consideration. Dick is right, his footwork around the base was beautiful. Morneau did great, but Florimon did excellent there.
Can we call him Captain?
socal agrees with you. I do, too, though I didn't write an article about it.
FFS, Cuzzi, did you forgot how to call a strike?
That's mo' betta.
with that haircut, i really think that pedro should be wearing a pair of these.
Everyone should always be wearing those, though.
Correia's short start last night is looking worse with each passing extra inning tonight.
Please, don't let it be Ibanez.
/exhale
Duesning walking a thin line here
woo, got out of it
how about winning this game now
Hi. I'm here now. Good thing this game is going so long, I get to tune in for once.
I hope they make it worth your while.
I expect to get what I pay for.
It's a bargain at twice the price.
I have a lot to do tomorrow. I think it might be time to head to bed, so I can't spend tomorrow saying that I stayed up for nothing in the case that the Twins lose.
Yeah, you'd better judge me well!
You'd better merit...well...judging.
I hope I remember to submit. Darn 6 o'clock deadline.
Only 1/17th of folks are in so far, so you're not the only one I'm worried about.
Wait, what? That's not supposed to be that way, according to my notes. And it might be very very problematic, given some people's access to internet.
Aw, snap. Looks like it's actually 2/17ths. Does that do anything for ya?
Yes. Yes it does.
I am now breathing again.
Sorry. I had completely forgotten about the submission from the one who doesn't have internet problems.
Mine is sitting in my draft queue, just biding its time. I don't want to send before I know how the rest of the story turns out, I might need to change something.
Yeah, I figured this one would be all about the late blitz of entries.
BLOOP!
COLABELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
YES YES YES
This sounds much more promising than my unrefreshed gameday is letting on.
'Tis.
BELLA! BELLA!
Colabello! Nice time for your first homerun!
Florimoney.
So... 7 runs, right?
that's what i was wondering.
Whew. Stayed awake to respond to Phyllo, and figured "meh, I'll leave the game on."
You're welcome.
It's the first time I've ever been glad to know you!
Maybe someday you'll reciprocate?
Watch it. You'll never find two more websites that tolerate your presence.
::trying to count the number of bannings...::
What, you don't have that in your notes somewhere?
I'm sure Brooks has a spreadsheet.
Truth be told, I don't really take many notes.
This is why you'll never get your name on the sidebar.
good lord!
I almost feel bad for Felix. He deserved better, but screw him.
I'm crazy about the guy, but if I can get Felix dominating and the Twins winning in the same game, I'm more than happy.
His sinker tonight was so sick the ball was retching.
his big curveball was a beauty too
"Deserve's got nothin' to do with it."
"Fair got nothin' to do with it."
Oy, what is up with Perkins lately?
Not cool, Perk. Definitely not cool.
Swell turn, boys.
Yes, give that man a Gold Glove.
Oof, good. If the boys had lost this one after I stayed up this late, I'd have been miffed.
Bingo, and I'm a west coaster.
Sorry again, fans in attendance.
Good night, puppies.
That was sweet. We watched a movie, so I turned on the game late but started from the beginning thanks to MLB.tv. Once the Twins tied it up in the ninth, I looked at the option to jump to an inning and saw it was in the 13th, so I skipped to that inning. That was a good decision.
