ANZOATEGUI 4, ARAGUA 3 IN ANZOATEGUI
Twins: Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in one. Dakota Watts (Aragua) struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and one walk. Aaron Thompson (Aragua) struck out the only man he faced.
Aragua: Luis Maza was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs. Juan Infante was 2-for-3. Omar Poveda (Atlanta) struck out four in 4.1 innings, giving up one run on one hit and two walks.
Anzoategui: Alex Herrera pitched three innings, allowing one run on two hits and no walks with one strikeout.
The game: Aragua got single runs in the first, third, and fifth, to take a 3-1 lead. In the ninth, Luis Nunez hit a two-run double to tie the score. With one out, Escobar delivered a game-winning single.
MAGALLANES 8, ZULIA 4 IN MAGALLANES
Twins: Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched one-third of an inning, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.
Zulia: Luis Ugueto was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Ali Castillo (Yankees) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Sandy Leon (Washington) was 2-for-5.
Magallanes: Lew Ford was 2-for-5 and scored twice. Mario Lisson was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his sixth), scoring twice and driving in four.
The game: Magallanes scored three in the first to take a 3-2 lead and added one in the second to make it 4-2. Zulia tied it with two in the top of the sixth. In the bottom of the sixth a run scored on a force out to put Magallanes back in front. Magallanes scored three in the seventh on the Lisson three-run homer to put the game out of reach.
MARGARITA 10, LA GUAIRA 5 IN LA GUAIRA
Twins: Antoan Richardson (Margarita) was 0-for-3 with two walks and scored twice.
Margarita: Adam Duvall (San Francisco) was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run (his third), scoring twice and driving in five. Cesar Hernandez (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a walk and a home run, scoring twice and driving in one. Danny Rosenbaum (Washington) pitched five shutout innings, giving up five hits and no walks with one strikeout.
La Guaira: Luis Sardinas (Texas) was 3-for-5 with a double and scored once. Juan Graterol (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer. Cesar Suarez was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.
The game: Margarita scored five in the third, capped by a grand slam by Duvall, and was never threatened.
CARACAS 11, LARA 3 IN LARA
Caracas: Daniel Mayora was 4-for-5 with a walk and scored three times. Carlos Perez was 3-for-4 with three doubles, scoring twice and driving in three. Victor Garate struck out six in five shutout innings, giving up five hits and three walks.
Lara: Oswaldo Navarro was 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, his second.
The game: Caracas scored all of its runs in the first three innings, getting four in the first, two in the second, and five in the third.
