Santurce: Jonathan Rodriguez (St. Louis) was 1-for-2 with two walks and a double. Jose Morales was 1-for-2 with two walks. James Houser pitched seven innings, giving up one run on six hits and no walks with five strikeouts.
Ponce: Jonathan Lennerton was 1-for-3 with a home run, his fifth. Henry Ramos was 1-for-3 with a double. Joel Pineiro pitched four innings, allowing one hit and two walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Lennerton hit his home run with two out in the third for the only run of the game. Santurce loaded the bases with two out in the second, had men on second and third with two out in the fifth, and had men on first and third with two out in the eighth.
CAGUAS 6, CAROLINA 5 IN CAGUAS (10 INNINGS)
Carolina: Rene Garcia was 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs. Enrique Hernandez (Houston) was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Yuya Iida struck out nine in 6.2 innings, giving up three runs on four hits and one walk.
Caguas: Aaron Bates was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Johnny Monell (Baltimore) was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Edgardo Baez was 1-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in one.
The game: Two doubles, a single, and a sacrifice fly put Caguas up 2-0 in the second. Carolina got single runs in the third and fifth to tie it at two. Hernandez hit a two-run double in the seventh to put Carolina ahead 4-2, but Caguas got one back in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI double by Baez to make it 4-3. An RBI single by Anthony Garcia got the run back for Carolina in the eighth, but Bates and Ramon Castro hit RBI singles in the bottom of the eighth to tie it. Bates led off the tenth with a single and scored from first on a throwing error on a bunt to end the game.
