Santurce: Neftali Soto (Cincinnati) was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer, his second. Christian Vazquez (Boston) was 2-for-3 with a walk. Joseph Colon (Cleveland) pitched five shutout innings, allowing no hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
The game: Soto hit a two-run homer in the first inning. The runs held up until the seventh, when Mayaguez struck for three. Vargas, Martin Maldonado, and Luis Martinez each had a run-scoring single in the inning. The last eight Santurce batters were retired.

Caguas: Jorge Padilla was 2-for-4 with a home run. Edgardo Baez was 2-for-3 with a walk and a triple. Bobby Livingston pitched five shutout innings, allowing three hits and one walk with one strikeout.
The game: Johnny Monell (Baltimore) had an RBI single in the first to give Caguas a 1-0 lead. A run scored on a double play in the fifth to make it 2-0. Each team scored once in the sixth. In the eighth, Mota drove in a run with a double to make it 3-2 and put the tying run in scoring position. Ponce also had the tying run on third with two ou tin the ninth.
