Anzoategui: Jose Gil (Yankees) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run homer (his second), scoring twice. Gorkys Hernandez (Kansas City) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Ramon A. Ramirez pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.
Magallanes: Mario Lisson (San Francisco) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run (his twelfth), scoring twice. Pablo Sandoval (San Francisco) was 3-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Ramon Hernandez (Kansas City) was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI.
The game: Lisson homered in the first and a single, two walks, and a ground out plated a run in the second to give Magallanes a 2-0 lead. Gil hit a three-run homer in the top of the third to put Anzoategui ahead 3-2, but Magallanes got all three runs back in the bottom of the third on a two-run single by Sandoval and an RBI base hit by Hernandez to make it 5-3. In the sixth, a walk, two singles, and a ground out produced two runs for Anzoategui to tie it at five. Endy Chavez (Seattle) led off the Magallanes seventh with a single, went to third on a bunt-plus-error, and scored on a sacrifice fly to give Magallanes a 6-5 advantage. Anzoategui never got the tying run past first base.
