A pair of three-run innings and some strong pitching put Magallanes in control of the series.

MAGALLANES 11, ANZOATEGUI 2 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 1-for-3 with a home run, his fourth.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.

Magallanes:  Robinson Chirinos (Texas) was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his third and fourth) and three runs.  Ronny Cedeno (Philadelphia) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his fourth), scoring twice.  Lorenzo Barcelo pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and no walks with four strikeouts.

Anzoategui:  Oscar Salazar was 1-for-4 with a home run, his third.

The game:  The first two Magallanes batters went out, but then Mario Lisson (San Francisco) singled and Juan Rivera doubled to give Magallanes a 1-0 lead in the first.  Chirinos homered with two out in the fourth to make it 2-0.  In the fifth, Pablo Sandoval hit a two-out, three-run homer to put Magallanes in control at 5-0.  Salazar homered to put Anzoategui on the board in the bottom of the fifth,  but Magallanes got three more in the sixth, one on a homer by Chirinos and two on a home run by Cedeno, to put the game out of reach.
