Dude. Tower of Power horn section. You under-sold this.
Huey gets dissed by the hep cats, but he put out some solid pop.
No, he didn't.
If music were food, Huey would be (off brand) boxed mac and cheese.
(Also, my first thought when I saw this selection was, Is it Doc's music week?)
Heh.
Different strokes, Bootsy. I'll grant that Huey's no Deerhoof.
😉
Funny Huey story: Some years back my pal David left multiple messages on Mr. Lewis' agent's voice mail expressing interest in using him for a soundtrack. After getting no response from the agent, he was able to track down Huey's cell phone number. And while it took him him a couple of calls, when David finally convinced him that they weren't gonna make fun of him, the Newsman signed on.

Great story. Even greater: that a Huey Lewis video generated so many comments.
Pamela Des Barres was pretty impressed by Huey.
Wasn't she pretty impressed with most lead singers?
yes, but apparently Huey was the biggest lead singer
Not commenting on over or under selling, but I did at least add the Tower Of Power tag.

FTFY -- gotta get rid of that "feature=embedded" crap
Thanks!
I love how much Huey gets into his banal lyrics. He's feeeelin' it! It may be the BTTF connection, but the song always gives me chills and makes me wish I could skateboard.
