Corey Brewer is going to have a 1000 point season (he is at 987 with tonight being the last game). I bet 400 of those point have been of the receiving end of a Kevin Love outlet pass.
Morning baseball alert. Fort Myers plays at 9:00 Central with Tyler Duffey going. Duffey doesn't have the hype of some other pitchers, and there are reasons for that, but he has been very good in his minor league career so far. Weather permitting, New Britain plays at 9:35. D. J. Baxendale, who was very good through Class A but has yet to have success in AA, goes for the Rock Cats.
Fort Myers scores four in the eighth to take a come-from-behind 6-5 victory. New Britain is rained out. Rochester plays this afternoon at 2:30, with Scott Diamond on the mound, and Cedar Rapids plays tonight at 6:30.
Aye, with the first. If this next one is a boy, nay.
Ha. We haven't, but last night my wife said she liked the name Grayson.
Soon to be a girl's name "Gracen" or some variation. I know of one such girl, but I can't remember how it was spelled. "Greighsynn"? Something like that.
Yes and *checks his name* yes.
We have 3 girls.
Not my son, but two of my nephews fit the trend. So the latest generation of my family is sitting at 2 for 5.
Hadn't considered nephews. Counting my son, my siblings and I have 5 of 8. Yikes.
Between me and my cousins there are 4 boys. Ending letters are W, R, B, H.
Together y'all make up the call letters for reading radio.
One son (Y, see below) but two nephews, N and X.
I'm part of the demographic, but not yet contributing. Get back to me in September.
Sheenie and I have had a boy's name picked out for many, many years and it ends with an "n"
Deleted.
Wesleyan?
I may be Methodist, but not quite. Plus, it's Westley.
Well I wasted that joke then.
"Westleyan?"
Noonan?
No, but I remember noticing the popularity of Aiden, Brayden, Jaden, Hayden, etc., when considering names for the jalapeno.
Now possibly all girls. That hasn't happened yet to Colin and Nolan, but give it time.
That's why we should all name our sons things unlikely to ever be used as girls' names, like Marion, Ashleigh, Hosea, and Carol.
Kelly?
Yes, Exactly!
Daryl.
And my other brother Daryl.
Nope. On Trey's team of 13 kids that are 7 and 8 yrs old, three of them end with "n": Aiden, Nathan and Damien. On Junior's team of 12 kids that are 10-12 yrs old, there are four kids that have names that end in "n": Jayson, Jason, Christian and Tristan.
Just realized my name and my brother's name ends in "n". Actually, my brother's full name ends in "d" but he goes by the shortened version. Same for my dad, although it is a different name (by one letter).
I have five nephews. None of them have a name that ends in the letter "n". One of my two brothers' names ends in "n". He is 38 years old, though.
Oddly enough, my sister's name ends in "n".
Nope, I'm counter-cyclical Y.
But HPR's Cub Den of six boys has 3Ns, 2Ys, (although one goes with a shortened version ending in an M), and an R.
I'll try to send out a reminder at least a few days in advance, and I've updated the Features page with the new schedule if you want to need to double-check. Thanks for the turn out, everyone.
Thanks for including me on this. I do really appreciate being able to voice some words about fatherhood.
I always read FKB, but I have trouble relating at times. Being a non-parent myself, I'm definitely looking forward to your column.
Now that you've started curling, eventually you'll start going to spiels. There's a good chance since it the FKB advice will give in handy.
Our knives will be sharpened!!!!
But, seriously. Looking forward to it. More voices are good for our community.
Did anyone else watch "Fargo" on FX last night? I wasn't sold until the last 10 minutes or so.
It's recorded. I finally got around to finishing Justified.
Billy Bob Thornton's character has the potential to be one of the all-time greats. Minnesotans are going to really have to get past the accents, tho.
I did. While at a Des Moines institution [ looks at MagUidhir and Ag meh IA at least yes? ] I refused to watch Fargo for years. I eventually watched it across the country; I'm not sure where they are going with this show. The red coat was dumb. I will say the fact that the showed Bemidji on the water tower in the first couple of minutes was a nice nod. I think the accents are tighter this time around which was also a nice surprise.
Most of the other "action" wasn't all that believable for the area. The passive aggressiveness was spot on but there needed to be more for the hammer to fall
I made soy yogurt last night. Because vegan daughter. Story and pics to follow. Bottom line: easy peasy, and not bad, plus $3.48 for a half-gallon of soy milk and a little effort beats the pants off of ~$1 per itty-bitty single-serving cup.
Looking forward to hearing more! The store-bought soy yogurt I tried was terrible.
Everything about that comment makes sense! 🙂
I'm looking forward to this as well. I'm so tired of buying those darn cups.
I take it you're having some bad weather in the Twins Cities. Tonight's Twins game has already been postponed and there will be a split doubleheader tomorrow.
A surprisingly tough drive to Fargo this morning. About 25 miles east of Fargo, I came upon a two semi crash (happened a few hours earlier). The one semi burned up, nothing left to the tractor but the steel frame. Fatality.
The roads were pretty icy in stretches for about 150 miles.
I have tickets for tonight's game. Was looking forward to braving the elements. Oh well.
Braved the elements last night and for the first time in my life,* left before the home half of the 9th had even begun. That outing by Burton was a total fun-suck.
*sans small children
If OKC beats Orlando in the last inter-conference game of the season, the West will end up tied for their best winning percentage ever against the East: .733.
I'm appreciating you lot more than ever right now. Long story short, there is significant division on one side of my family - there has been for some time now - but as my wife and I inch closer to returning home, it's potentially going to be a very clear and present issue again. My stress level has been through the roof lately as a result.
Family division is among the toughest problems we ever have to deal with. You are in our prayers.
Ugh, Everton is blowing their Champions League chances against Crystal Palace at home. Ugh.
That Man City-Sunderland tie was huge, huge I tell you. Chelsea v. Liverpool on April 27th will pretty much determine leage champ.
Sorry, that was due to the massive support of Spurs fans pushing for Everton to beat Arsenal for 4th. We will stop.
All I know is that I don't want standings to change at all starting whenever I moved back into first.

Have you been participating in this trend?
Aye, with the first. If this next one is a boy, nay.

We've filled out the year nicely:
