2014 Game 22: Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins

Since last week, the Twins were 3-3. If we assume they were a 70-win team before the season, then performing like that for the remaining 141 games means they're now instead a 72-win (okay, 71.9) team. A few more weeks of this and they will cease to be on pace for another 90-loss season.

  1. Dazz: "and guess who was working on bunts today? Jason Kubel!"

    Me: oh, pretty please.

    1. Heh, Bert was snidely talking about shifts and whatnots and saying hitters are going to start bunting

    1. Meyer, who lowered his earned run average to 3.48, recently switched from the circle-change grip he had always used to the three-finger grip used by Red Wings teammate Deolis Guerra, who has the best changeup by far in the Twins’ minor-league system.

  2. I'm glad Dozier can hit homeruns, but I wish there was occasionally someone on base in front of him when he did it.

    1. you are pinning your hopes on Florimonster
Although Dozier hits some lead off HRs so he is naturally going to hit a lot of solo shots.

  3. Right-hander Kohl Stewart, the fourth overall pick of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, earned his first professional victory on Friday night. He threw a career-high six innings as Class A Cedar Rapids earned a 6-1 win over Clinton.

Stewart, the Twins' No. 4 prospect and No. 38 overall, according to MLB.com, allowed one unearned run and one hit. He struck out six batters and walked one.

Through four starts this season, Stewart has a 3.15 ERA and a 0.75 WHIP. The 19-year old has struck out 13 batters and walked four in 20 innings.
