Swans new album is my favorite of theirs that I've heard. They do this thing where once they get locked in, they build to a peak and where a post-rock group would pull back and gear up for the next swell, Swans just keep going at full-tilt and there's nothing to stop them. You half expect the song to just continue forever. This is a song like that except it's not forever, just 10 minutes.

That was pretty intense for early morning listening. But my tea needed to steep for 10 minutes, so it was perfect for that.
That was what I needed this morning. Good stuff.

An endless build up of tension with zero release. It makes my skin crawl. I love it.
"Bring the Sun / Toussaint L'Ouverture" is a 34 minute song that kicks off with a three minute climax that most bands would spend a whole album building to. It's like they said, "Eh, we can get there whenever we want, you better strap in, we got another half hour of this".
