    1. Our EH&S (Environmental, Health and Safety) specialist at the ethanol plant hung one of those charts above above the urinals in the men's room. Sadly, it was not the least useful thing he did during his short employment with us.

        1. this was a recent point of discussion at our dinner table (the Girl is interning in a plant biology lab). Yes, we have some weird family discussions.

  1. Project Encounter AMR, day 1: no success. I did see a woman who appeared to be commuting by means of a pair of green-wheeled roller skates.

    1. I am confused. You first say you didn't see AMR and then you describe seeing him?

      1. Well, she was neither bearded nor carrying a black backpack. So either he was lying yesterday, or it wasn't him.

        1. I tried to encounter AMR once. I led by name-dropping Philo, and it was all down hill from there.

          1. My understanding from Pepper is that if you name-drop Philo, it doesn't make a sound because it doesn't fall far enough to make an audible impact.

            1. I'll make a point of saying "hi" again, given the opportunity. Perhaps the next time my kids are sneezing all over yours at church.

                1. We've been trying for 9am, but fall back to 11 when Sunday morning chaos reigns.

    2. We could like exchange photos, but I think this is more fun.
I was there between 7:50 and 8:00. I saved a stunned Tennessee Warbler from being pancaked on 3rd at Marquette.

      1. I agree--it's definitely more fun this way.

I was there at 8:15. Better luck next week!

  2. Souhan thinks the Timberwolves should think radically about their coaching hire - look at hiring an Olympic head coach:
    "They could hire David Blatt."

The story's not all that interesting and the majority of the comments are typical stribbie garbage. This exchange made me smile:

Excellent thinking from outside the box Jim, and it is another example of why I consider you the best sportswriter in the country!

    Halyed: is that you, Souhan?

@sidhartmann With a comment like you made it goes to show your mentality, which already is in question by selecting the handle you did. I guess it is not appropriate to congratulate or support someone who you feel is doing an excellent job in your eyes, but again, I feel Jim Souhan is the best in the business, and cheers go out to him for doing an excellent job!

Only Souhan or a member of the Flat Earth Society would make, let alone defend, that statement. It would be generous to say Jim is intellectually lazy on all things sports writing related; topic, content, style, editing. . .

    1. I haven't seen the nginx screen since the move, but I wouldn't be surprised it's possible to get. It might be a caching thing too. I have had trouble logging in sometimes; doing the exact same thing on the failed login screen has always worked however.

    1. "It's amazing that they would refuse to call 911, and then give her ice treatment which makes it worse," Chen's lawyer, Kirk Boyd, said in a statement.

It's a fast food employee; it's not like he's staying at Holiday Inn Express or anything.

  3. Have been doing a lot of close work on the house. Most recent project was back door, and have moved on to the storm window by the barbecue grill. Yes, I'm in no hurry. Found this interesting.

  4. If this baseball thing doesnt work out, Aaron Hicks might have a fall back plan

Aaron Hicks shot an 80 at Pebble Beach on the off day. 4 birdies, including par-5 6th, 2nd-hardest hole on course. Beat Bill Mauer by 2.
