I've been unable to watch the Twins for so long that I just plain forgot to do it last night.

I'm back, but I got home later last night than I had hoped, and I have a lot of stuff that needs to be done today. Therefore, the regular Jeff A posting schedule will not resume until tomorrow.
Justin Morneau had a 6 RBI game last night.
13 HR, 57 RBI slash line: .304/.340/.522 /.862 OPS123
Awesome.
I'm really happy to see the Mountie doing so well this season, but I'm not happy that it's for the Rockies. I'm just jealous.
At least it's not the Yankees?

is it enough for an All Star game appearance back in the Minny Apple? I would hope so.
I heard on the Rockies broadcast last night that even if he's not on the team, Morneau is being considered for the Home Run Derby.
that would just ruin his swing for the second half.
That would be great.
A great idea I just thought of: Jim Thome should come out of retirement and hit a few flag poles.
Tulo is picking the HR derby participants, so it would seem that Morneau would have the inside edge to being picked.
Ugh, call me naive, but I didn't realize how obnoxious auto insurance companies would be in terms of constantly trying to call me after I tried to get some quotes.
15 minutes could save you 15 percent cost you two hours?
Heh, I actually left Geico. Its some local company (at least area code-wise, anyway). The same number has called me twice per hour but never leaves a voicemail. I am amazed that people still don't understand what cell phone voicemail is for these days.
more likely unscrupulous marketers who know they are breaking the law. We must get 4-5 calls per day from "Unavailable" on our home phone, or some "market research" firm. The only reason we even still have a land line is because the Mrs insists we keep it until the Girl graduates from high school. Then that sucker is gone, baby, gone.
In this case, its Consumer's Insurance from Adams, WI. I have no idea how they got my number because I never looked them up for a quote. They kept interrupting my World Cup feed yesterday which was maddening.
"preexisting business relationship" is the biggest b.s. exception to the Do Not Call List policy. It seems to justify almost anything. Plus, you know, the complete lack of teeth in the enforcement to begin with. I find it unconscionable that callers are allowed to mask their caller ID information. At least make the bastards re-route their calls to anonymize.
CC to Rhu_Ru: The wedding is at 1:00 pm on Saturday, but the reception isn't until 6:00 pm so there will be a few hours in between when we could get together. We'll be at the Holiday Inn Express in O'Fallon. Let me know if that works for you.
I have the monthly singing at the nursing home from 2-3 that day, but after that I think I'm good -- I'll check that out. Thanks
As someone who may regularly vote R: Ugh. Please can at least this thing not be tied to partisan distinctions? I guess not.
(Obviously a response to just the hed and lede of Cheaptoy's JP's article, and not bS.
If the category is "Dumb Things Talk Show Hosts Have Said", I think we can find plenty of examples at all points of the political spectrum. And of course, sports talk show hosts get their own category.
If that were the only place I've seen an attempt at that connection...
Papa Young getting some publicity for something besides his high school prom picture.
Cool! I've used one of those and was amazed at how nicely it worked, especially the magnet brush holder. Seems like such a simple idea - that it didn't exist prior to 2000 was a surprise.
Trevor May added to the Futures Game's U.S. Team as a replacement for a guy the Cardinals called up. I wonder when the last time the Twins had two starting pitchers in that game.
Presumably this means it's probably another month until he gets called up? Frown.
The Twins have three players in the Futures Game and none of them named Buxton, Sano or Meyer.
If only that were because the future is now.
Just got back from watching the men's qualifying for the shot put (US Nationals) on the grounds of the Capitol, across the street from my office. Qualifying led by Ryan Whiting, Joe Kovacs, and Reese Hoffa, but no really big throws. Boo. I'll be back for the finals this evening.
Missed the women because of a meeting, but did get to see them warm up. Michelle Carter is the class of the field. I hope to see their finals late this afternoon.
Also, he led off the bottom of the 7th, singled and scored. SF leads 4-0.
And he has another no-hitter.
Frontier air charged me 35 bucks to carry my bag onto the plane. Normally, I'd be ranting and raving, but this trip is for my grandmother's funeral. Allow me for a moment to complain. 35 dollars? Because the fare I purchased doesn't feature a free carton? How the fuck would I know that I purchased your sub economy ticket when the travel was booked through a mega search site. 35 dollars. Boo.
they should just charge a flat fee for the seat, then weigh you and your luggage and charge a per pound surcharge.
And once again I'm wishing Southwest flew into more cities.

cheaptoy has been busy on the Interwebz, I see.
HA! I am extremely grateful that he uses a middle name (I share mine with the Crainwreck). I should probably check my Twitter, though.
This. Of course

Lincecum with a no-no through 7 - 87 pitches. Issued a BB in the 2nd - 5K's.
