Two-thirds of the way through the regular season. Who's got anything left to give this team?
Phil Hughes vs. Danny Duffy. That's probably a best-case scenario.

I'm here tonight! At least for part of the time. Kids are at the grandparents! Now I can get caught up on dishes!
Trade! That! Ham!
Hammertime
I've probably said this about 50 times, but I enjoy Roy Smalley in the announcers booth.
Has he done 50 games?
I'm with you.
Unfortunately, Omaha is in the KC blackout area and I can't get mlb.com feed and I have to watch the Royals broadcast on FSM. Rex Hudler has got to be one of the worst color men in all of mlb.

WTF Dozier?
He didn't even look like he was in a hurry. Where was Vavra on that?
Yeah, Dozier either totally ignored 3B coach or Vavra had his head up his a$$.
I thought I heard Ullger was back at third for the rest of the year- Vavra has a back/hip issue, I think.
Yep, Ullger is back at third.
Minnesota's Josh Willingham (16) slaps hands with third base coach Scott Ullger (41) as he rounds third after hitting a home run in the second inning against Kansas City on Wednesday.
It all makes more sense now, doesn't it?
It was the former, although the STrib says that Dozier couldn't hear Ullger, who was yelling "Stay! Stay!" Dozier never saw the shortstop backing up the play and took off for home.
running into lots of outs tonight
So, is the good Phil Hughs back or do the Royals just suck this badly?
Probably a little of both
or not...
rats . could have dome some damage there.
They didn't get any runs, but I'll be if that wasn't a fun half inning to watch.
Nunez with a Jacque Jones-eqsue relay throw.
He's terrible at fielding. He can't hit. I don't understand why he's on the team let alone playing at short.
#FreeFlorimon
He is super fast.
Oh yeah. Gardy has a Need For Speed.
He had an .800 OPS about 3 weeks ago. Of course, he's stopped hitting since then and is actually below his career norms now.
This escalated quickly.
:/
Man, I leave for 15 minutes and the whole thing falls apart.
Yeah. Of course, 3 runs in 6 innings ain't terrible. It'd look decent if the Twins capitalized on some of their opportunities.
Welp, got one back.
Dozier looks terrible lately.
I still hate bunts.
God this team is hard to watch these days.
rally time!
Close
swing
the
bat.
gah
Santana did twice!
On ball four.
Since July 3, Sam Fuld was batting .368/.486/.439 coming into this game, so the Twins have him bunt with the tying run at second and no outs in the eighth inning against a RH reliever and two RH batters due up. Two K's later, the Twins' best chance to win the game was over.
