On the local morning news today, the newsreader said that Peterson was in trouble for "spanking" his kid. Uh, no. I don't want to get into a debate about whether spanking children is appropriate, but unless the reports are all wrong, what Peterson did went well beyond "spanking".
Thank you, Padre. And Cris Carter. Not everything our parents did in raising us was right. We can honor our parents' generation and still change expectations for ours and our children's generations.
