OBREGON 3, NAVOJOA 2 IN NAVOJOA
Obregon: Robert Saucedo was 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. Agustin Murillo was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Arturo Lopez struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.
Navojoa: Jon Weber (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his third. Jose Guadalupe Chavez was 1-for-3 with a double and a run. Ruddy Acosta pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.
The game: Obregon scored single runs in innings two through four. Weber hit a two-run homer in the sixth for Navojoa but they did not get a man past first after the sixth.
MAZATLAN 3, HERMOSILLO 2 IN HERMOSILLO
Mazatlan: Ryan Schimpf (Toronto) was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks, scoring once. Jesus Castillo was 1-for-2 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Amilcar Gaxiola pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Hermosillo: Cole Garner was 1-for-4 with a home run. Jerry Owens was 3-for-4. Jesus Castillo pitched two perfect innings with one strikeout.
The game: Mazatlan trailed 2-1 after five, but doubles by Schimpf and Olmo Rosario keyed a two-run sixth that gave them a 3-2 lead. Hermosillo got the tying run to third with two out in the eighth.
LOS MOCHIS 4, MEXICALI 3 IN MEXICALI (11 INNINGS)
Los Mochis: Ernesto Molinet was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, driving in one. Brian Burgamy (Mets) was 2-for-5 with a triple and a run. Luis Niebla (Yankees) pitched four shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
Mexicali: Walter Ibarra (Dodgers) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and a walk, driving in two. Gil Velazquez was 3-for-4 with a double. Marco Antonio Duarte struck out five in four innings, allowing one run on four hits and three walks.
The game: Ibarra's two-run double with two out in the ninth tied the game at three. Sebastian Valle (Philadelphia) homered in the eleventh for what turned out to be the winning run.
JALISCO 6, CULIACAN 5 IN CULIACAN
Jalisco: Jesus Lopez was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Manuel Flores struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.
Culiacan: Nick Buss (Oakland) was 2-for-4 with a home run. Ronnier Mustellier was 2-for-4 with a home run. Robert Coello (Baltimore) struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing only a walk.
The game: Japhet Amador's RBI single in the seventh put Jalisco ahead 5-4. A bases loaded walk made it 6-4. Culiacan scored once in the eighth and got the tying run to second base with two out.
