LOS MOCHIS 4, OBREGON 3 IN OBREGON (10 INNINGS)
Twins: Corey Wimberly was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI for Obregon.
Los Mochis: Yancarlo Angulo was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer. Justin Christian (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-5 with a home run. Santiago Gutierrez pitched 5.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and three walks with one strikeout.
Obregon: Albino Contreras was 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Dean Anna (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-3 with two walks and an RBI. Rolando Valdez struck out eight in seven shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.
The game: It was scoreless until the tenth. Angulo hit a three-run homer and Christian added a solo shot to make it 4-0. Obregon scored three in the bottom of the tenth and had the tying run on second with two out. In a game in which no runs were scored until the tenth, Los Mochis used nine pitchers, five of whom faced two or fewer batters.
JALISCO 3, MEXICALI 2 IN JALISCO
Mexicali: Luis Juarez was 4-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Gil Velazquez was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Edgar Osuna pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and two walks with one strikeout.
Jalisco: Cory Vaughn (Mets) was 3-for-3 with a home run. Gabriel Gutierrez was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Graham Godfrey (Arizona) pitched six innings, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
The game: Mexicali led 2-1 after seven, but Vaughn homered in the eighth to tie it and Jalisco won it in the ninth on two errors and two walks.
CULIACAN 6, MAZATLAN 5 IN CULIACAN (10 INNINGS)
Mazatlan: Derrick Robinson (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Roman Pena was 1-for-2 with three walks. Walter Silva pitched 6.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
Culiacan: Refugio Cervantes was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk. Sergio Gastelum was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Manny Barreda (Milwaukee) pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a walk.
The game: Mazatlan led 4-0 after four and a half, but Mazatlan came back to tie it in the seventh and took a 5-4 lead in the eighth on Cervantes' home run. A bases-loaded walk tied it in the ninth, but a single, a walk, a hit batsman, and a sacrifice fly won the game for Culiacan in the tenth.
NAVOJOA 4, HERMOSILLO 2 IN HERMOSILLO
Navojoa: Rolando Acosta was 3-for-4 with two runs. Luis Borges was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jose Oyervidez struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.
Hermosillo: Jerry Owens was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Cole Garner was 1-for-3 with a walk. Jesse Estrada struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing two hits.
The game: Borges had a two-run single in the second and Reggie Abercrombie doubled in two in the fifth to make it 4-0. Hermosillo scored both of their runs in the eighth.
