ESCOGIDO 8, LICEY 6 IN LICEY
Twins: Chris Parmelee was 1-for-5 with two RBIs for Licey.
Escogido: Wilkin Castillo was 2-for-4 with a grand slam and two runs. Joc Pederson (Dodgers) was 1-for-3 with a home run and two walks, scoring twice. Mickey Story (Toronto) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Licey: Elmer Reyes (Atlanta) was 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Juan Francisco (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Braulio Lara (Tampa Bay) struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing a walk.
The game: Escogido led 6-0 after two and a half, but Licey closed to 6-5 after eight. An RBI single by Pedro Ciriaco (Kansas City) and a home run by Pederson made it 8-5 in the top of the ninth. Licey got the tying run on base with two out in the bottom of the ninth.
CIBAO 8, AGUILAS 6 IN CIBAO
Twins: Jeremias Pineda was used as a pinch-runner and played in the field but did not bat for Cibao.
Aguilas: Rafael Ynoa (Colorado) was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs. Willy Garcia (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, driving in two. Juan Sandoval struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Cibao: Xavier Scruggs (Seattle) was 4-for-5 with a home run (his third) and a double, driving in three. Alexi Casilla (Baltimore) was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Ramon Ramirez retired all four men he faced, striking out one.
The game: Trailing 6-3 after four, Cibao scored four in the fifth to go into the lead to stay. They added an insurance run in the eighth.
ESTE 8, ORIENTE 0 IN ORIENTE
Twins: Wilkin Ramirez was 0-for-1 for Este.
Este: Eugenio Velez (Milwaukee) was 2-for-2 with a double and three walks, scoring once and driving in two. Cristhian Adames (Colorado) was 3-for-5 with a triple and a run. Dylan Axelrod (Cincinnati) pitched five shutout innings, giving up four hits and two walks with two strikeouts.
Oriente: Gustavo Nunez (Atlanta) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Brian Ward (Baltimore) was 1-for-2 with a walk. Genison Reyes (San Diego) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
The game: Velez hit a two-run double to cap a four-run sixth that put Este ahead 7-0. Oriente got men to third base in the first, fifth, and ninth.
