I know I'm way behind on the recaps, but Salt River won its division and will play for the AFL Championship on Saturday against Peoria. Game time is 1:08 Mountain Standard Time.
KG wants to own the Wolves I guess? I saw a joke on twitter about KG join forces with Prince to buy the team, so that'll probably happen. Ha.
βI want to buy the Timberwolves. Put a group together and perhaps some day try to buy the team. Thatβs what I want,β Garnett said after a 107-99 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night.
Hopefully, this will dispel the myth that Garnett didn't like playing in Minnesota.
I think he'd still be highly regarded here.
Like just about everyone except Knoblauch.
Or like LeBron in Cleveland.
Don't forget Anthony.
"...and move them to South Carolina."

I think KG loved playing in Minnesota and hated playing for Papa Glen.
Well seeing as seemingly the only way they could get worse from an ownership perspective is if Donald Sterling's lifetime ban was revoked, I'm fully on board with this.
I'm okay with KG being part owner of the wolves, but the thought of a KG Prince pairing is pretty funny. Especially when prince doesn't have a cell phone.
In a statement, Nestle said, "The fact that our product was implicated in Linda Riveraβs 2009 illness and tragic passing was obviously of grave concern to all of us at Nestle.
If any of the Nation's lawyers have any experience with workplace injury and liabilty law, or could provide an opinion on a particular barrister working in that field, I would love to pick your brain a bit off-site.
If it'd be helpful, I worked at an employment law firm and so could probably put you in touch with someone specializing in workers comp issues. Not at that firm, but they have a pretty great network.
I haven't said anything here because it hadn't been anywhere close to official, but it looks now like my consulting job is ending after 22+ years. Unlike other jobs recently mentioned here (keep at it, Citizens -- your new job is out there!), this could very well have a positive outcome for the Runner family.
Ever since some long-time contractors at Microsoft sued for benefits (and won!?) several years back, the railroad law dept. has been raising a stink about my (and other) long-term contracts in the engineering department, which through various subterfuge we have been able to keep working, but looks like our time is up. This time, though, several of us are being offered to hire on as employees, and without the requirement to relocate. The timing of this is great, and hopefully the salary is commensurate -- the benefits themselves would kick butt what we currently have. The vacation time is negotiable, and I don't plan on retiring at a time before pension / RR retirement would vest, so my fingers are crossed.
Wow. That's great news, Rhu_Ru! I hope it works out without a hitch.
what CH said. I hope this turns out at least as good as it sounds.
Congrats on the possible good things to come.
Man - I sure hope things work out as described!
Im in the process of moving places (sigh) and stumbled upon this beauty. I have no idea how I acquired it.
HOLY CRAP! Is that Kermit the Frog wearing a Weezer shirt!!!
the conservative freak-out about "net neutrality"? I am seeing paranoid blathering on the BookFace about how the Kenyanan Muslim Socialist is conniving to control what we can and cannot view on teh Interwebz.
Apparently, everyone likes "net neutrality" outside of Republicans in Congress, as long as you don't call it "net neutrality." See this story from techdirt citing a University of Delaware poll.
How many of those "Oppose" and "Strongly Oppose" actually care enough to do anything about it? Contact representatives? How many will use this to determine their votes? How many partisans would have this be something they care enough about to make them vote for the party they otherwise disfavor? Seems like one of those issues where one side has broad but shallow support.
probably true. But not very relevant; when a large, large majority of self-identifiers from both sides of the partisan ledger agree on a question, you typically expect the electeds on both sides to agree as well.

Not if the numbers, once correcting for strength of feeling, are not as lopsided.
Take a stand on one side: lots of people might grumble about it for a minute and then forget it.
Take a stand on other side: lots of people might think "good job, rep" for a minute and then forget it, while a few people, including a part of your base, may completely be upset and start looking for a primary challenger.
Which might be what Algonad is saying, but there are less cynical interpretations.
Also, questions akin to immigration questions I've looked at of late. "Do you prefer: a) immediate deportation of all illegal aliens and visa overstayers of b) immigration reform with a path to citizenship for some of those here illegally?"* No matter what side of the debate one may fall on, there's little connection between public opinion on that choice and the actual options available to our elected officials.
*So it wasn't that bad. Actual question:. "Should most illegal immigrants working in the United States be:
a) Offered a chance to apply for legal status
b) Deported to the country they came from"
That net neutrality poll question was similarly loaded.
From a uninterested distance, sounds more like bickering between internet content providers and service providers with the content providers wearing a mantle of righteousness and making it about everyone's rights. But I could be way wrong because... uninterested. Also, disinterested, I don't really use high-quality video streaming for much.
the problem with that suggestion is that providers have gotten into the content game and are preferring their own content to that of non-providers. See:Comcast/NBC.
arguably because effective monopoly/duopoly in ISP service provision in many areas. Time-Warner Comcast is moving into that position along side AT&T, which now owns DirecTV. A half-way decent look at these issues here.

Particularly our legal department. E coli contamination in raw cookie dough implicated in woman's death.

It is. Its a 45 record for 'Keep Fishin'. The video featured The Muppets
Can any of the soccer folk explain to me why the USMNT is playing Columbia in London?
Roger Goodell.
Good as explanation as any.
I would also have accepted Glenn Taylor.
From our discussion the other day on just who were the finalists and the "runner-up" to Molitor, Bollinger had this yesterday:
I do remember seeing at one point just before Molitor was hired that Mientkiewicz had been told he was no longer a candidate.
Giancarlo Stanton is getting paid by the Marlins today. This is my favorite comment about the subject

I almost posted a similar thing here today
so, can anyone here provide a reasonable analysis of why
Wow. I guess that's one way to spin it.
