CAGUAS 4, MAYAGUEZ 2 IN MAYAGUEZ
Twins: Kennys Vargas was 1-for-4 for Mayaguez. Daniel Ortiz was used as a pinch-hitter by Mayaguez and was 0-for-1.
Caguas: Angel Sanchez (Dodgers) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one. Rey Navarro (Cincinnati) was 3-for-5 with a run. Efrain Nieves (Toronto) pitched six innings, giving up two runs on nine hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
Mayaguez: Luis Figueroa was 2-for-4 with a home run and two runs. T. J. Rivera (Mets) was 2-for-3 with a walk. Jorge Lopez (Milwaukee) pitched five innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk with three strikeouts.
The game: Caguas scored two in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie. Sanchez doubled in the go-ahead run and scored an insurance run on a sacrifice fly.
SANTURCE 5, SAN JUAN 0 IN SAN JUAN
Santurce: A. J. Jimenez (Toronto) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Reymond Fuentes (San Diego) was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice. Joel PIneiro (Angels) pitched seven shutout innings, giving up five hits and no walks with three strikeouts.
San Juan: Juan Centeno (Mets) was 1-for-3 with a walk. Reinier Roibal (San Francisco) struck out six in six shutout innings, allowing four hits and a walk.
The game: Fuentes' home run in the seventh broke a scoreless tie. Yadiel Rivera (Milwaukee) hit a three-run homer as part of a four-run ninth that put the game out of reach.
