Yesterday I went the entire day without checking email. I'll bet it's been months to years since I've done that.

Discussion at the bar last night:
"I like Coors Light better than Nattie Light."
"I can't believe you said that! Coors Light is awful."
"It's better than Miller Lite."
That's funny, I come here just minutes after watching the Matrix. Whoa!
Back from the I.L.'s - vodka pie crust on the key lime pie was good and crunchy, but raised some eyebrows. Good thing I made regular United Methodist Ladies cookbook crust for the pumpkin pie. Lot's of Euchre was played, and football watched. I was able to get over to the A.L. YMCA on Friday morning and swim a mile - only a $6 guest fee, not bad.
I made the "'Traditional' Minnesota Grape Salad" for Friday-afternoon Thanksgiving Dinner. (I forgot we were doing it on Friday because Grandpa doesn't like to get rush back from the big lunch at the nursing home with Grandma.)
I'll never need to make that again. It wasn't hard, but either I should have baked it more so the grapes sweated into the sour cream, or I should have mixed something into the sour cream, like cinnamon and sugar or something. Still, folks got a kick out of trying what the coasties think we like to eat.
My aunt came up from Iowa with some great wild rice with morels, hazelnuts, and cranberries.
And hardly anyone wanted to share my bottle of Three Philosophers, so I got to drink almost the whole thing myself.

I clearly wasn't at your party.
And apparently I was there in triplicate.
I was happy with how my vodka pie crust turned out. It was a bit tricky to transfer to the pie plate, but I made sure not to skimp on the flour when I rolled it out. The crust had good flavor and was nicely flaky. It also got major bonus points from me for not shrinking at all during baking, which is a problem I've had with some other crusts in the past. (All butter crusts, IIRC.)
No raised eyebrows, but at this point my family probably expects me to contribute something a little "different" to gatherings.
I try do 5-7 days without checking email or the web every quarter. It's a wonderful mind cleanser.
Gophers with the early lead in their biggest game in 50 years.. Cobb makes it 14-3!
Suck it, Rows!
Or not!
It was all downhill after that =/
Difficult to imagine Gophers getting a bowl game to get excited about. I don't see how they get any better than the fifth best pick behind Ohio St., Wisconsin, Mich. St., and Nebraska. Gophers best Huskers, but they have better record and much better travel history. Anytime Gophers are close with a traditional power team in B1G, they never get taken ahead of them.
I think it all depends if Ohio St. makes it to a playoff bowl. If Ohio St. is shut out, that would bump everyone down a bowl. I think.
At the airport ready to head back after two days (four for Sheenie) down South (sorry meat, I was on the North Shore the whole time). I'm ready to not see the mother in-law again for a long time.
No worries, I'm certain that a Saints win will warm your heart with thoughts of your outlaws. Next time y'all are down stop by the Collection. We currently have Andrew Jackson: Hero of New Orleans up to good critical response.

The Iron Bowl has become a bit of a shoutout.
