Twins have two June games in StL next season, for anyone looking for lodging...
Meanwhile, I'm getting hosed on our Spring Training beach vacation this next year, what with the later start. The games during our time there that would work are the home opener, the opener against the Red Sox (also in Ft. Myers), and interestingly enough, a road game in Port Charlotte against the Rays (~1 hr north of Ft. Myers), which has some great seats available. Guess I attend a road game and practice sessions (and a lot of beach time, which isn't a bad thing)
Already got lodging π I'm hoping to be at both.
Stay in touch -- I don't necessarily want to attend the games by myself π
I have a rule where I don't talk about the next St. Louis road trip while the last one is still fresh. Still recovering from yesterday's drive.
tack another 6 hours onto it like my trips up north, and THEN we'll talk
Ok. But only if you add 3 school-age kids to yours!
d'oh!
Do I have to go back to work today?
Only if you want to go back to work tomorrow.
Woo-Hoo! Four day weekend!
D'oh!
It certainly feels like December. Ugh.
Just got the preliminary job offer from the RR, and while it lacks a bit in vacation days it makes up for nicely on salary. Looks like I'll be working on the railroad all the livelong day.
Keep that train a-rollin'.
Glad it is working out Rhu!
Choo-choo!

The Challenger!
Man, I can't wait until UP gets that monster 4014 up and running, too.
Before I write my thoughts (because I'll forget by the next movie day), do I need to spoiler a comment about the end of the movie Annie?
Annie dies. She falls off the bridge before Punjab can rescue her and perishes. Like "Owl Creek Bridge", the big finale is a dying dream. Everyone's there, cleaned up and spiffy for a party for... her "Your Parents Are Dead, Here's Your New Dad" Party? Hannigan is there, apparently not in trouble for kidnapping or whatever. FDR and Eleanor are there. The orphans are all there and are all happy for her and they have candy.
Maybe I could put more meat on this, but that'd require having to watch the movie again. Twice in one calendar year is often enough for me, thanks.
This does not mention the list of WGOM VIP's that were in attendance.
No doubt she rocked hard on Saturday. Great show, great to see everyone.
Nice review other than that glaring omission! I've had her songs stuck in my head ever since the show . . . and that's fine by me.
What is the record for most number of the Wgominatii at the same place?
I'm sure one of the old Caucuses where we went to a Twins games. The one I went to, we had I'm guessing 15 of us? Maybe more.
Yeah, the one in 2009 had a bunch of us.
Butch Davis will be the first base coach for the Twins. Not a big name but definitely not a "Twins guy" either. Has been coaching in the Orioles system for the last 20 years. Definitely an experienced coach.
baby steps
Sounds like the Twins reached out to Delino DeShields and Rick Renteria for the 1st base coaching job, but were turned down.
Thank you, Miss Rosa
On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus. The rest is history. pic.twitter.com/9NWaVbtBCH
Is there to be a movie post today? I saw a movie that I'd like to make some stupid comments about that I hope someone will find funny.
Only if you read the book as well.
Dang, I got my Mondays mixed up. Is there a book for "Annie"?
There's a libretto.
This may evolve into a soap opera.

No? I'll click it anyway.
Only if you mention FDR!
This is regarding the original film version (1982).
