Last night I re-learned how great a live sport hockey is. My elder daughter sang the National Anthem with her school choir, so we got great tickets on the cheap. I also continued my streak of only attending games that end in shootouts.

As a fan of the Timberwolves, I had to laugh at these series of tweets because I know the feeling

That's a good reminder that things could always be worse.
I used to think the Wolves Twitter/PR person had the worst job in sports, but the Sixers person sure gives them a run for their money.
Yes, like the Sixers and Wolves are your two favorite teams. I'm not watching much NBA this year. At least the Sixers aren't trying to pretend to be competitive.
At the beginning of the year when everyone was healthy, the Wolves looked competent and could have been a sneaky 30-35 win team.
Not so much anymore.
In the NBA, if it were any other team, I'd say it be better to tank and go for the top draft pick. But you know the Wolves won't win the lottery.
I see the Vikings are doing a good job of getting minimal points out of maximum possession time.

The Sacramento Kings fired their coach tonight.
What?
There had to be more to that story.
The previous GM had hired him, so losing 7 of 9 was a good enough excuse for the GM to look for his own guy.
It's more than a little surprising. He's lost 7 of 9 (after a 9-5 start) because Cousins has missed the last nine games with viral meningitis.
The team was making progress prior to Cousins' illness, becoming relevant again despite still having a talent deficit.
