if I'm not mistaken, reference was made to Aragorn being over 80 in The Two Towers.
Well, box my ears -- he was 87 according to the LotR extended edition. And Legolas never found him in all those years?
Dude, the Elfian High Council had declared that yourknowlege of LotR history is not insufficient enough for you to be on the internet. As penance, please write a 5-page essay on why an Elf princess and a Dwarf could never fall in love. Please cite your references.
I can see past those double negatives
That's the best she's got? π
No, being one of the last scenes in the movie, it was all she retained
Come to think of it, that means it took Legolas over 75 years to find Strider.
There is no reference that they met prior to The Council of Elrond. However, Since Aragon and Legolas were semi-frequent visitors of Rivendell, one can speculate that they previously met, or at least knew of each other. (Remember Aragon was hanging around Rivendell because he had the hots for Arwen.)
Did it though? IIRC, At the Council of Elrond Legolas tells Boromir to respect Strider because Boromir owes his allegiance to him since he is Aragorn.
It's also entirely possible/reasonable to assume that Orlando Bloom just f***ed that up. (In other words, my memory from the book is currently failing me.)
For a second, I was wondering why we were talking about my daughter's pooping problem again.
Anyone else get up to watch Boxing Day soccer?
I'm watching from my desk at work.
From work? Yuck. At least your work is cool about it, and Chelsea's winning at the moment.
My coworker of Malaysian extraction "works" a lot on the weekends, but mostly just comes into the office to watch soccer in the breakroom.
Cable, big screen, hi def.
I'll be having the soccer on the tv at work today.
You may have already heard about this, but it somehow seems a fitting way for the signing of A. J. Pierzynski to be announced.
I'm working remotely over the holidays which means all I really need to do is roll out of bed and get online. This makes it far too easy to stay up too late. I really shouldn't have been up until 3:30 watching The Fall.
Happy Boxing Day everyone.
Figured DPWY would've shared this here...tangentially, I have to admit, I'm excited for Gopher's conference schedule to begin.
Definitely a great Christmas present. They are playing some ridiculously tough defense right now. The future is bright in Foggy Bottom.
Merry Boxing Day, Citizens!
Saw The Hobbit: 5 Armies last night with Runner daughter, and even she was quick to point out the dumbest minute of the film...
Pretty sure at the beginning of the Fellowship of the Ring he was over 80.

Pretty interesting article on evaluating the market for James Shields.
