So, last night I had an opportunity to see a beloved family movie classic in an historic theater in my town.
Mary Poppins
I ... did not care for it.
I realize that when it came out, it was a marvel of filmmaking. However, I found it incredibly boring and I found the character of Mary Poppins to be a bit of a grump, not at all the bright cheery nanny that I've been led to believe.
The kids loved it. My wife loves it. Me.... I would be just fine never seeing that movie again.
It lost me at "Feed the Birds"; they're pigeons -- shoot them.
Perhaps you would prefer this version?

I love it too, but can understand the boredom. In a way, that's part of the appeal for me now. Just a nice, peaceful story with a relaxing pace.

There is curling on ESPN3
I should have been paying more attention. Ah well, just as importantly, curling will be on NBC live extra and one of their channels every Friday night at ten starting in two weeks.
Please let me know what channel it will be on. I'll try to keep an eye out for it, too.
