...of a decent stretch of work days. I should have probably saved my latest "the end" for Saturday before my week off, but whatever.

Oh Spooky, you are a man of many Ends. I'm getting curious to see a list of the top ten most frequently used subject lines (headlines?) for the CoC. Sean, is this do-able, or would it be way too much work?
For sean? He probably has it ready.
For everyone else? way too much work.
I think we should refer to "Fall, Caesar" as "'The End'er's game"
This got a chuckle from me.
I just watched Ender's Game this weekend. Does that count as a Baader Meinhof?
You're a German Marxist?
No, no, no. Clearly you didn't read the "Bulletin Board" section of the Pioneer Press in your formative years.
He's from Iowa.
Dad switched to the PP (for the sports coverage) while I was a pre- or early teen. Bulletin Board during my formative years, indeed.
Since you'd presumably heard of Ender's Game before this weekend, I'm not sure it would qualify.
Here it is for the entire site as it's way, way easier.
I'd throw "Uh Oh" in with "Whoops" to break the tie.
This is brilliant. Thank you! I almost want to see it in the form of a bar chart, but there's no real reason for that other than utter geekness.
not a pie chart?
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!
It's not really a data set that's ideally suited for a pie chart, but that's not to say it couldn't be done.
Oops, I need to make it bigger to fit in the full list:
That is... not very helpful.
Pretty, though.
I would keep the pie the same size and expand the box that fits the legend.
Or just shrink your font size on the legend.
I would leave it small with just "Whoops" and "other"
I hate MS Excel default colors and I have customized my own sets.
I should send them to you, if I can remember how to send.
"Out of My Brain on a Train" - is this some local colloquialism?
Who?
The band on stage.
Yes.
No, no, no. Who.
That's my question, who's on stage?
Naturally.
The band's on stage and it's one of those nights. Oh yeah.
The Band is performing later on. Who's on stage.

I love this. I've wondered for a while.
I think it's odd that "The End" is my running joke, and yet it only just now caught up to one I wasn't even trying to use a lot.
Clearly we need a graph of when each of these were used. Maybe you had a running joke earlier but didn't realize it.
Are half of the "whoops" posts from the first couple of weeks of a given year? Because it feels like most of them have had to do with writing the wrong year on things.
Here they all are:
+---------------------------+
post_title
+---------------------------+
December 17, 2011: Whoops
January 12, 2012: Whoops
April 6, 2013: Whoops
August 24, 2013: Whoops
February 17, 2014: Whoops
May 20, 2014: Whoops
May 25, 2014: Whoops
+---------------------------+
Rather than look them up, I'm just going to assume that they're all about putting the wrong year on things.
Fortunately, getting the post content out is easy and they're all short. Conclusion: spooky stays up too late.
December 17, 2011: Whoops:
I've stayed up until 1am (at least) reading TV Tropes. AMR, did you suggest that? I'm simply lost there.
January 12, 2012: Whoops:
I was going to use a bizarre story from work here, but I ended up burning it off last night in the Cup. Now I can't think of anything interesting that happened today.
April 6, 2013: Whoops:
I only got to sneak a look at one at-bat from work yesterday. Guess which one.
August 24, 2013: Whoops:
I didn't call Greg.
February 17, 2014: Whoops:
I realized I missed the NBA all-star exhibitions when the actual game came on last night. The dunk competition is excessive, fixed and idiotic, but I still get into it.
May 20, 2014: Whoops:
I needed sleep last night in preparation for a long night tonight, but fell down some internet rabbit holes and am posting this two hours into what should be sleep.
May 25, 2014: Whoops:
I stayed up until 1, doing nothing of note.
Indeed. I stay up too late on a regular basis, occasionally due to rabbit holes.
And I still haven't called Greg since my "Whoops, I didn't call Greg." Dude's one of my all-time best friends and I don't think I've actually heard his voice since about 2010 or 2011.
I'm currently closing in on a nine-month hiatus from Whoops-related coffee, but I have six months to go to tie my record. Of course, now if I accidentally break it, I'll have to use "Whoops" the next day too.
Padres sign James Shields for 4 years/$75M, same years and just $20M more than Twins gave Santana. Shields is one year older but has been worth 3.7 rWAR average last 2 years while Santana has been worth 2.0 rWAR. Looks like very good deal for Padres. Shields sounded like he wanted to go to West Coast plus Padres have probably the best pitchers ballpark in baseball, so it's doubtful the Twins could have signed him for a comparable deal.
Also going to NL should help Shields' numbers as well.
Where did the Padres get all this money? They have spent a lot this offseason.
*looks at previous season payrolls*
Found it!
Big League Stew just pointed out that the Padres have acquired both Wil Myers and James Shields, who were traded for each other a couple years ago.
My wife has been subpoenaed back to Kansas to testify on an old case, so it's just me and the little one for the next 4 days (first time she has spent overnight away from him). It's interesting how much of a non-deal this is, even though it took almost 3 years for it to happen (or maybe she's just putting on a brave face). We'll see what the Skype conversation is like on day 3 or 4.
My friends, I'm not saying the Wild have punched their ticket to the playoffs, but my-oh-my has it been fun watching them the past two+ weeks. I'm also not saying that Dubnyk is the cause, but 7-1 with a 1.31 GAA, .938 SV% and four shutouts in nine starts with the Wild certainly didn't hurt their chances.
Its amazing what a hockey team can do when its not down 2-0 after 3 minutes.
Wait, are you saying 2-0 isn't the most dangerous lead in hockey?
Just like the Grammys to put two artists together to re-create one's greatest hit.
Bravo, AMR.
Thanks. I could have worded it better, but I had a work meeting that started at 1 and needed to put it here half-baked.
With more than 24 hours to think about it, I'm pretty sure "re-interpret" would have been a better choice.
Okay, I had to do this:
These Grammys are like Gold Gloves, but for music.
What amazes me about this is his argument that people are being "snubbed." Well, yeah, they're getting snubbed because bubble gum pop dead weight like Beyonce is getting nominated.
Her album was pretty good.
I never listened to Beck's.
I don't actively dislike her music, but it certainly doesn't grab me. I liked Beck's album quite a bit. I'm not surprised it was Grammy bait. I heard better, but the big awards shows are never going to go heavy on the lesser-known acts.
I, obviously, don't give very many shits about the results of awards like these. I do, however, find it amusing how worked up people get over it. That need for validation is sometimes hilariously strong.
Yeah. It kills me that Kanye doesn't think a bajillion dollars and worldwide fame are enough vindication.
I don't watch awards shows and was surprised to learn the Grammys had even happened. I'm one of those tedious idealistic artists who loathes awards shows because we're not supposed to be in competition with each other.
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRZxek8rwNU
Well there is that.
I actually think there may be something to this being a repeat of the VMAs/Taylor Swift thing.
bubble gum pop dead weight like Beyonce
I'd agree with this assessment of most pop artists but Beyoncé is really god damn good. She's far better than the Taylor Swifts and P!nks of the world.
Eh, I exaggerate. Bad habit.
you mean it's the worst habit in the world
Well done B.
I thought of other ways to word it afterward, but this is simpler and more elegant.
I haven't followed Swift much for years (overexposed personal life will do that to me), but she showed off some big songwriting talent early. I wouldn't be surprised if she's kept up making stuff I'd appreciate. But there are only 24 hours in a day and I don't think I'd like to spend them finding the jewels under the veneer of turd.
I don't really have anything nice to say about P!nk's music. Some HS friends apparently are huge fans (learned via fb feed).
The first five seasons of MASH are on Netflix. That just made my day.
AIR RAID!!!!
For those playing Fantasy Baseball, the google docs site (http://goo.gl/t16gXg) now has the updated eligible keepers.
Tony Dorsett was a manimal in college and I always liked him, even if he played for the hated Cowboys. As an adult, I once stood right next to him in a hotel in Pittsburgh (I never bothered him). Now things are bad. CTE. (Don't read the comments.)
Oh, man.
I loved loved loved Tony Dorsett when he was at Pitt. And who could forget "99...and a half!"
On a separate note, I see Pek is able to play in back-to-backs but Rubio is not. Something not quite right there. If anyone should be protected, it's Pek.
Maybe Pek needs Rubio's doctor.
CC to Free: you don't happen to know where I might find presale codes to the newly announced Replacements show in Chicago, do you?
Haven't come across any yet. Like the Mats Facebook page, I know some codes came out on FB for the St. Paul show last year. Also see if there is an e-mail list or Facebook page for the venue they are playing at, lots of times pre-sales will come from the venue. I'll check around too.
RIP Ed Sabol. My appreciation for orchestral music started with the old cartoons but was reinforced by watching NFL Films, especially the slow-mo scenes.

I'll work on trying to get the titles for the CoC.
Now that I read the question properly, here you go.
I'd throw "Uh Oh" in with "Whoops" to break the tie.

You don't belong in this league, Homes.
Who cares if it's true. It's a great story.
From what I understand, there is a game that could match, so I'm inclined to believe the story, which makes it better.
Has Dominique been asked to take a leave of absence?
How about those Timberwolves! Leading Atlanta at the halftime break.
Considering its the best team In the league, I'll allow considering a four point deficit a lead. (Unless the internet is wrong.)
Whoops, transposed the numbers. Only down a 4!
The start of the third quarter has not been good. ooof.
I think you meant "woof".
