Do I have to listen before I give low stars?
You damn well better!!!11
How much of the 237 seconds? Is 118 seconds enough?
Has to be at least 119.
Shoot, I was hoping to go for a "Abraham appealing to God to spare Sodom" sort of thing.
You know how that turned out, right?
Abraham talked God down to 10.
And then blowed the whole thing up
Sounds like my plan:
If not even 10 seconds didn't make me cringe: 1 star.
Wanted to do this in our monthly nursing home singing, but JT's verses are so "free form" that it's difficult to coordinate voices. Shame, because there's nice harmony to be mined.
I have the feeling I'm going to have to go down a rabbit hole to figure out the backstory here . . .
Heh, that was fun to read again.
This was easy enough to find. But reading that it was for AMR “as well,” then I had to find what the other thing for him had been--turns out not to be related to the topic at hand. But where did the whole James Taylor thing start? It has to be something prior to September 4, 2011, but I haven’t found it. Of course, it might have been at the old basement . . . I need more hours in the day to research such frivolous important topics!
HJ played something I would like, and followed up with something I would hate.
EAR's been watching Gilmore Girls. I wondered why I never watched it. Then I found out: theme music.
I leave the room or struggle for the remote or make some weak effort to demonstrate that I object to King's music being played to my ears.
I remember not being able to tell except from by voice what songs were King's and which were JT's. And I intend to never find out.
Heh, that was fun to read again.
Though it sometimes feels like our lineup is stagnant and most of the things that would really cause offense have either already winnowed the roster or are largely avoided through self-policing, bhiggs comment at the end of that is one of the reasons I keep coming back.
I can honestly say this was one of the most interesting posts I have read on this site. It constantly amazes me how the group of people that make up this community can have actual discussions and disagreements without the whole thing blowing up into a steaming pile of dreck. Nice job, fellas.

Hey, how'd I miss out on this James Taylor conversation? I love James Taylor!
The new and improved basement debuted on April 17, 2011.
I assume the story reaches back that far. In a nugget: James Taylor is the Mike Scioscia of music. /spits in disgust at having to speak either name.
/wipes hands on pants in disgust at having to type either name.
Continuing Saga: 12/9/11 (JT compares favorably to that Christmas song from Paul McCartney) 2/13/12 (The Eagles) 8/1/12 (Steely Dan) 8/26/12 (Same joke as today, more or less) 10/28/12 (Fiery Furnaces) 8/10/14 (Jackson Browne & The Eagles)
I responded to jobu, messed up the link tags, then fixed them, but the edited LTE was apparently marked as spam. Can one of you admin dudes help?
did you want one of the two identical LTEs deleted, Pepper?
Yes, please!
wow, this song has the most ratings since... that other james taylor video, i'm guessing.

This was the best of the one above marked "Eagles":
