It's nice to be busy at work again, even if just for the weekend.

What is happening in the East is that Cleveland is resting their all-star point guard while taking out the number one seed. The second best player on that club right now is Tristan Thompson.
1. GSW -- #GOINK
2. CLE -- as long as you have LBJ, you have a chance. If Irving can play at or near full speed, I think the finals will be close
3. ATL -- they are a better team than HOU and have a slightly better chance to win their series
4. HOU -- they haven't been this dead since they were down 3-1 to the Clips
Ok, I see now that #goink is a hashtag on teh Twitters and relates somehow to the NBA. But what the hell is it?
ah. Phil Jackson channeling Rifding Hokme. We should sue.
He put that out right after GSW went down 2-1. They haven't lost since.
He knows how to motivate.
I should add that it appears that both series will be sweeps. I do think it's possible that either or both series get pushed beyond four games. I can see a scenario where Houston comes out and gets one. But I think we'll know whether that's possible by the end of the first quarter. If GSW jumps out early, could be another 35 point beatdown. I don't see Cleveland winning such a game, so I think there's a real chance this series goes beyond four. Of course they need LeBron to have a bad game. That's possible.
Well, what we learned from last night's game is that LeBron can have a terrible game first quarter and Cleveland can still win if the supporting cast can hit jumpers. Do you trust JR, Shumpert, Dellavadova, AND Jones to show up again? Those four were 13-30 on 3s yesterday.
Somehow I was thinking today was Sunday, so I made the CoC about work instead of the actual holiday. I would have done something a tad more meaningful had my internal calendar been working.
My parents are on vacation, and they shared a baseball-related encounter. I'll quote their message because there's something so charming about the way they phrased it.
We met this young man [Duke Welker] and his mother when taking the tram up and down San Jacinto Mountain yesterday. After we learned he was a minor league pitcher recovering from Tommy John surgery who had briefly been a Twin, I thought we could find him on the internet. Very nice young man and mom.
Today, we'll be spending memorial day like millions of Americans: driving home from whatever rv campground we were staying at for the weekend.
Staining deck posts, replacing a toilet, mowing, (hopefully) picking up a small bed, and as much pre-surgery stuff I can cram into today. #TimesRunningOut
I celebrated the bank holiday by going into the shop and working my ass off.
I'll be catching up on some office work while listening to the game. Probably do a hospital visit later.
spending the day in the (third-) best way to honor America's war dead: by enjoying the National Pastime on the radio. I mean, what did we fight those wars for but to be able to enjoy our freedoms, our culture, and our pastimes?
The right to boo Mauer - yes indeed.
Typical Mauer - XBH in a blow-out win. He is so un-clutch.
I know we complain about the Twins announcers a lot, but the longer I listen to John Kruk and Curt Schilling the dumber I feel like I'm getting.
How do I post a photo from my Mac to an LTE?
If you happen to have edit privileges here, and don't have a repository to store the image, the easiest thing I've found is to edit a post (this Co'C for instance), Add Media and upload the image, and then instead of embedding it, copy the URL and cancel out of the editor. Now you can put the image into an LTE using IMG and the URL you copied.
Alternately, upload to an online repository like Flickr and then use the img button to reference the url of the desired shot.
OK - the pen was for proportions, I should have used a quarter...
I don't think a quarter would have changed bS's response much....
So after this spate of victories, how do the advanced metrics look? I know it's a healthy bit of smoke and mirrors, but is it nice thick smoke and better quality mirrors?
Consider that they still will be able to replace Pelfrey with Ervin Santana in 5 weeks and Tommy Milone can replace any one else that is struggling and/or injured. They're weakest position by far is CF. We all know that can be strengthened in the second half pretty easily. Next is shortstop, but we can put Escobar there and bring up Vargas or Pinto to DH. The Twins also have a number of power arms in the minors to bolster the bullpen if necessary. Also, that is the easiest part to strengthen through trades, as TR has shown in the past.
The Twins would have to go 46-72 the rest of the season to get to 90 losses.
Somehow, the Timberwolves will manage to do so.
90 losses in 82 games would be truly impressive.
Maybe you knew this, but I didn't. Not only is Chris Colabello back in the big leagues with Toronto, but going into tonight he was hitting .386/.449/.600 in 70 at-bats. And tonight, he hit his fourth home run and collected his eleventh and twelfth RBIs.
He did have an injury that he tried to play through at the peak of his hot start. Now healed, it's reasonable he could do well again.
Rockets might have a chance tonight. Wowza.
Their collapse here will be entertaining. Such is the cause of Josh Smith making threes early.
Why is Steph Curry back in the game?
That will certainly be the talking point tomorrow.
It would have been had he not returned.
I relaxed after he hit a couple shots. But I would have been tempted to sit him down with about 5 minutes to go.

Or the WGOM's Media Library.
OK trying...
Not seeing Add media.
you're editing the post, right, not an LTE? 'Cause it's the biggest button there. ..
WGOM Challenge - When I ride around CT roads on my bike, I find road 'bling' and put it into a large jar in the man-space. I picked this up earlier today. What is it?
Not the pen...
Well, I see a ballpoint pen.... 😉
