NBA last night.
No Love. No Irving. Bad JR Smith. It doesn't matter. A completely exhausted LeBron willed his team to victory, aided by Matthew Dellavedova, who made the league MVP look rather ordinary. Beauty, as they say, is in the eye of the beholder. To see a team like Cleveland, playing so short handed, and not giving up against a way more talented team, well that's beautiful. To see the most selfless superstar in the league reluctantly take on an immense load, get no calls, and have the little Aussie come in and seal the deal. Well, that's beautiful.
I like the Warriors. They are a good team and they play exciting basketball. But, Klay Thompson aside, they played an ugly, ugly game last night. They should beat this team on their home floor by fifteen. Instead, they are damned lucky that they are not down 0-2. Cleveland set the pace, they out-defended the Warriors, and for almost the entire first two games, they were the aggressor. When the league MVP committed two intentional personal fouls off the ball in a Hack-A-Thompson effort, well that was embarrassing.
Still, though, we've been treated to two scintillating games that either team could have won. We've seen the Best Player in the World carry his rag-tag group in a way that almost no one (yours truly certainly excepted) foresaw. Anyone who is still somehow doubting LeBron's greatness is just a hater. Cleveland may not win this series. Hell, they might not even win another game, but the pretty boys got punched in the mouth in the first two games and the conventional wisdom didn't see it coming.
I really can't argue. Cleveland played a lot of really aggressive ball-pressure defense. GS has to adjust by moving it quicker and taking more back-door cuts.
Like I said last night, you have to be impressed by Cleveland's effort and ability to stick to their game plan. But as poorly as GS played, they still had a shot.
Anyone have any thoughts on the draft tonight? It sounds like a weak class overall, so I'm less excited than I have been in the more recent past. No real passion for anyone who is likely to be left at 6, but it would be kind of neat to see the Twins take a shot at Aiken, even with the TJ.
I was interested to learn that E.S. Posthumus wrote the theme for MLB Tonight. These guys are gods over at StreamingSoundtracks.com for their excellent multiple, multiple movie trailer music themes...

The fountain. I kind of liked this when I watched it, but I wasn't really paying close attention, so it didn't make that much sense. I was never really sure if that was the fault of the movie itself, or my inattentiveness.
I had 1, 2, 3, 5, 8 this morning, so I have nothing to add.
Had my staples removed this morning (20) and have been cleared for "unencumbered" showering (yay) and possibly be driving in a couple weeks, although not in my car because manual transmission. Saw the x-ray, and holy crap, I am bionic. Best news though was the end of needing to wear the compression cuffs on my calves (for preventing DVTs) which were one of the few things I couldn't do manage by myself (and were annoying).
This morning I was able to get up and dressed by myself (clumsily), get my breakfast and meds, and sit down to work without waking up my poor overworked Mrs. Runner, who deserves every late morning she wants after putting up with me this past week. I'm rocking the cane like House, but in the correct hand. Time to hit the therapy a couple times a week and build up the muscles now.
Glad to hear the good news. Keep at it. Best wishes to you.

A nice article about my employer from Fortune
Its pretty neat that its early June and a home series with the Royals is a huge deal .
TV a little over to the top referring to the teams as rivals with a David and Goliath history. Um what?
I missed that.
