Well... If ever you've previewed the first 30 seconds of every track on a good album, here's the live version!
Good songs, and he gives up on each one. I'm glad I didn't pay money to attend this show.
I know a lot of folk have fondness for Siamese or Mellon Collie, but Gish really started them out well, and I feel they never really got back up to.
I first listened to Siamese on an airplane and the auditory complications of that setting may have biased me, but I felt that the mixing made it much less immediate.
And Mellon Collie showed how Corgan couldn't edit. There was some great stuff in there, but a lot of good enough that could have been culled.
Gish: 11 songs, 46 minutes.
Siamese: 13 songs, 62 minutes.
Mellon Collie: 28 songs, 121 minutes
(...and here I got turned on to the band from their song on the Singles Soundtrack, which was 8 minutes long. At least Jane's Addiction (a contemporary with two songs that long) kept their album to 9 songs in 52 minutes.)
I had a good portion of that without the box. (And also the "1979" Remixes!)
This reminds me of the Zero EP's "Pistachio Medley" except with long breaks.
Cripes, Billy. Not every time you play guitar for four minutes needs to be released. I don't care how hard you worked on it.
You're not Muslimgauze*!
*Muslimgauze died in January 1999 and has released about three new albums per year since.
See now, I agree I'd prefer to hear the full version of each song, but I think it would have been fun to sit through this show.
I gave it an eight just for prompting me to spin Gish on Spotify.
Nary a tag? hj, I fear you are unwell.
I had them when I tried to post this from my phone. Wankers.

Heh, dude, he did edit it.
I had this, and gradually lost it piece by piece.
