  1. does it count as a spooky when you see the score is 1-0 in the first, the Twins have one hit, and you know that Sano blasted a home run without checking the box? Maybe that's a meaty.

    1. I was desperately hoping that I'd get to watch his at bat before I had to leave for my appointment because I figured he'd hit a homer.

But I mean I guess I figure that every time he steps to the dish!

      1. With the one last night, I was in the clubhouse after my round, and everyone spec what they were doing and watched the at bat when he came up. There was a real sense that, well, why wouldn't he hit a home run there?

        1. Just off the phone with my mom, and she told me that the restaurant they were in went silent as Sano stepped to the plate. After the home run she said the place erupted as though a world series game had just been won.

      1. Sure. Last 14 days:

        Person AVG OBP SLG OPS
        Buxton .208 .240 .271 .511
        Hunter .148 .303 .185 .488

So, Rosario, Buxton, and Hicks it is.

      1. On the other hand, Dick did say you have to suck it up because of the wild card chase. Uh, no you shouldn't. He should be on the DL if it's serious regardless of when it happens.

        1. Or, since its September and there are players available, just not play unless its an emergency

    1. From all I've read about Sano and his leadership and competitiveness, I would never assume he's being lazy. The guy was told to take it easy on the bases and he's doing just that. As long as it doesn't affect his ability to hit, which it obviously isn't, there's no reason to take him out of the lineup. If he were to ask out because of the hamstring, I'm sure some would be complaining about him being soft.

      1. I guess I didn't mean "lazy" like it's a bad thing. Danny just spent WAY too much time explaining away why he didn't run to first. Like they are really careful to explain anything about which fans might criticize Mauer. Sano doesn't need kid gloves. He clearly can handle it. And who the heck would criticize him right now?

  2. Ooof, nasty sinker/2seamer/whatever to strike out Mauer.

Although he had a high ball called a strike probably should have had a walk.

    1. It looks pretty good now that he's down himself to be a solid bullpen arm on a team that needs one (especially now that Perkins is ailing).
