I played a board game last night that has a $400 price tag. That's lunacy, but...it's a pretty good time.

My friend was telling me excitedly about this game, and I was sad to see how expensive it was. Way more than I could ever feel comfortable spending, and just not in the cards for him (despite owning games that cost close to this amount). I hope to get to try it some day.
Uh, disregard I guess! My friend ended up buying it after all. Another friend is painting and assembling the minis, though. So it'll be a while before we can play.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Greinke has opted out of the remaining 3 years/$71 million of his contract with the Dodgers.
I saw something on the MLB Network where the hosts speculated on where Greinke would sign. I was not paying attention well enough to be sure but one of the hosts suggested Miami as the team to sign him.
There's always the Marlins...
Makes me think of Mark Buehrle signing with his old manager's new team (also Miami) only to have the old manager fired at the end of the first season.
(But then Buehrle was traded, anyway, so it's all good!)
Over the last two weeks, I've called 16 times and left two messages at the post office that the travel.state.gov site says to schedule passport application appointments with downtown. They haven't answered or returned my messages. The website says you have to call to make an appointment, but this is probably going to start to get frustrating soon.
Someone at the post office must be monitoring the wgom. Soon I'll be able to go to Canada if I want to.

Soon you'll need it just to leave the state. I'm happy to see that Louisiana and Minnesota now share more than just the mississippi river in common.
I had to call the Louisiana DMV state offce in Baton Rouge for work last week. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes (pretty much what I expected), the staff was shockingly and bizarrely helpful (much more so than any other state agency with which I have interacted for work outside of the one that is my client). It was strange and unexpected.
You must have been the millionth coustomer.
I laughed.
If downtown...could you go to the federal building/passport office? I had to go there for an expedited passport, but found it rather painless.
You have to have an appointment downtown, too.
They're a few blocks from each other I think, but I read that the passport office only does expedited passports.
Bollinger has written that Twins will be focusing on upgrading the bullpen, but he also wrote:
Free-agent catcher Matt Wieters might be out of their price range at catcher, as a reunion with A.J. Pierzynski is much more likely. Or they could go the trade route with Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy, one of a few potential targets.

Sandy Alderson fainted during a press conference.

You guys. Mauer with Pauer.

Lucroy sounds like LeCroy. I'll take it.
