So, this new Baroness album is my current obsession.

A college buddy of mine (who was nice enough to wait until well after to get heavily into metal. Thanks, buddy) is pretty into Barroness. Considers it meeting his hipster friends half way. I gave them a try when I had my free google play trial and it wasn't for me.
When was this? There were two personnel changes between the last album and this one, and I like this one quite a bit better than anything else they'd done before. I don't particularly dislike their past, but their present is much better.
This was back in August or so. I listened to the blue album, but it was too, I don't know if psychedelic is the right word but close enough. Maybe I'll hit the youtubes on Monday and listen to the newest album and give them another chance.
Yeah, the Blue Album is definite stoner metal, if you will. Of the old ones, I much prefer Red, but Purple is my favorite. I'm not sure you would like them, but you're sure to note the difference.
Leaving in a bit to go attend the practice and then performance of the St. Louis Low Brass Collective. This is the 10th year that they've had the open invitation Christmas play-along, which this year will be at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Last year was my first time, and I later described to someone that it was like being in a foreign country and suddenly finding all these people that speak your language. Looking forward to another good time this year. Hopefully the StL Symphony's trombonists aren't on tour this year and can join in.
"low brass" is heavy metal, amiright?
Yep. God's clef.

Ummmm . . . I thought that's what this place is.
Bought my ticket to see the force awakens on Tuesday morning. What's weird is that this is the second time in the same year I've been legitimately excited to go to a movie in the theater (fury road).
