Well, my holiday was quite excellent. O perhaps had a bit to drink, however.

Codenames was great. We had a lot of fun playing it last night. Thanks for the recommendation punman!
Glad to hear it!
Waking up to see Stoke destroy Man U is a great way to start the day.
The one item I got from "Santa" this year was a wireless charger for my phone. Thing is, it's an option only available for Samsung Galaxy S6 (or a few select phones with that feature), and mine is an S5. Of course, it works with my wife's phone, and even Runner daughter's Windows phone. Go figure.
You can get a special backplate for the S5 that will allow it to work
I'm not sure about the Galaxy Mega, but I will certainly look into that -- thanks
Okay, yes, "will" might be an overly confident word, but Linds and I both got backplates for our S4s that allowed them to interface with a RavPower wireless charger, so it should be possible to get an S5 working somehow. I'm not sure about the Mega, though.
Only I've seen for the Mega are ones which plug into the Micro USB at the bottom. It'll work, but probably not worth the convenience
We loaded up the car and got on the road after dinner last night. Decided I needed to head south before the snow. Made it to Cedar Rapids by 11:30.
4+ hours to go, but thunderstorms
Tried out this poor man's sous vide on some steaks for dinner last night. I had to add some hot water part way through to keep it at the right temperature, but pretty much worked like a charm. Finished them on the grill for about a minute once we were ready to eat. I've cooked steaks that were this good before, but have definitely had then turn out worse. Seems like a pretty foolproof way to cook, with no real risk of overcooking, plus the active cooking time is super short. Originally I did it just to try it out, but went so well I'll be adding this to the permanent arsenal.
I've been meaning to try that out, but I keep forgetting about it. Maybe I'll splurge on some good streaks around tax return time and give it a go.
Hope anyone watching the Independence Bowl isn't too fired up about seeing defense.
Jahlil Okafor, about the only bright spot for the 76ers this season, was out tonight with a knee sprain, so of course the Sixers go out and get just their second win of the season in Phoenix. It was their first road win of the season.
Saw teh Star Wars. Great fun. Reminded me why the original is so beloved. The original was designed to be like one of those serial space opera flicks. This one had some of that old feel.
Then after the FiL went to bed, watched the Ebert bio documentary, Life Itself, with the Boy and the theater BiL. Hit kinda close to home.

I think this Southampton goal broke some sort of space-time barrier
