Would be interesting to see a corresponding graph of the bird's weight thru-out the same cycle.
I just saw that last night.
I'm amazed by some of the arctic breeders that would seem to lack the time to even lay eggs to say nothing of raising their young to an age which would allow them to migrate back south.
Better than Kan'tuary.
Have the wolves hired Blatt yet?
NCY Central Park now has the 3rd highest snowfall since 1869. And the dog and I have another day to keep each other company
Making cassoulet tomorrow. Riff on this NYT recipe. I made confit-ed chicken legs today. What took me so long to try this technique?
I used about 2 lbs of lard for roughly 4 lbs of drumsticks, which I rubbed with a spice mix (cardamom, coriander, nutmeg, paprika, clove, cayenne, salt). Added a whole head of garlic (instead of the recipe's three), a sprig of rosemary, and four star anise. I left the ham hocks out (no room anyway) and had to add about a cup of olive oil to top off.
90 or so minutes in a 350 oven.
The chicken came out succulent, flavorful, and not at all greasy.

I saw a lot of the game at Brit's Pub, but I didn't see that.
I'm not sure that vine truly does the play justice, even. Towns got the ball about eight feet on the Memphis side of half court after Rubio passed it to him off a steal, so that head of steam is damn near 2/3 of the court.
For the bird nerds.
That thing's sort of hypnotizing.
