I was just asked to print for a very controversial artist who is having a big exhibition in New Orleans next year. I'm thrilled to have the opportunity, and maybe I'll be a footnote in a legal battle.
+1 ibid.
I accepted a new job last night. It's something of a lateral move within the same umbrella institution that is my employer, but in a different division with somewhat different responsibilities. I'll miss some of the colleagues I have here, but things with maagement have become toxic and manipulative.
Just yesterday my supervisor's boss said to me "I hope we get to work together until we both retire." I shared that with another recently departed colleague, who said "Well, she should have created an environment that made that feeling more mutual." Good times.
Good luck with the new gig, and hopefully the pastures are actually greener.
Dido.
The unit I'm moving to has a good reputation among colleagues I trust, so I hope that proves true. We all have our warts; it just depends on where they're located.
I like the line about warts. I may just use that later.
Congrats, CH. Hope things turn out well.
Congrats on making the switch. Just getting rid of the stress from the bad environment can be huge.
I'll add my congrats on the move. I've been starting to work on doing something similar (although not within the company) due to a developingly toxic/hostile work environment.
Congrats on the move. I decided to make a lateral move last year to get away from an awful work environment and it has been such a refreshing change.
Congratulations. May it be everything you hope it will be.
Congrats on the new gig. Good to switch to something entirely different every 3-5 years I say, if nothing to get the sense of newness and learning.
Free - How was Bingham? I really want to see him.
It was fun. He had a rocking' band and this old dude (80's?) who just threw down on the fiddle. I saw Dierks Bentley last summer and all the songs sounded the same, this was more fun.
I love a good fiddle, to the point hearing one makes me think I'd like to learn. Until I remember I can't read music and my hands don't move very well.
And that you don't own a fiddle.
That's the easiest part to remedy.
Anyone thinking about checking out the pond hockey championships at Lake Nokomis this weekend?
Does "Ooh, Pond Hockey Championship? That sounds intere--- oh right! Kids." count as thinking about it?
I bet you were close to joining the rugby team as well!
You don't need to rub it in.
Lots of times I'm close to leaving the house...
I'm pretty good at almost doing a lot of things. Sounds like this will be a skill transferable to fatherhood.
Kids make a pretty convenient excuse for lots of things!
Caveat: Wife and I come from different backgrounds about what kinds of things kids are brought to and how much they're expected to endure, so also a potential point of contention.
EAR and I came from similar backgrounds about what kinds of things kids can do on their own, but she's much more likely to listen to her parents who tut-tut when I want to give them freer reign. So there can be points of contention even when the backgrounds are the same.
These are the same parents that let her do these things at these ages or younger. Or who, when children themselves in this very neighborhood, would swim across the river to meet friends.
I'll concede that times have changed... but not in the way they think: for the safer. The main risk is from neighbors/police/CPS.
We went a few years ago, taking the kids. AuntieWalt and I's impression was that the event was set up more for the participants and not for spectators as much. For example, the main tent was more for the players to change, tie skates and warm up. After a puck whistled over the boards right passed my at the time two-year-old daughter's head, we decided enough was enough. It's a cool looking event. But once you're there, there isn't much to do if you don't have any skin in the game.
So far? It's awesome - no need for alarms, you come out of deep sleep gradually and feel great. Mondays are still Mondays tho.
Does it track the two of you separately? I've always wanted something like this for gentler wake ups.
Nope. It has some kind of device under the mattress on her side. Shows different varying colors of light and emits strange space-like sounds.
So... the sounds of silence?
I've heard good things about those. Would probably be a good thing for Jane, but they're all way too ridiculously expensive at this point for me to consider.
Even these these look beneficial, but you're still talkin' a hundred wing-wangs at least. That's a little too much for a glorified dimmer switch.
Time for the Jeopardy! online test.
I know I missed 3, about 4-5 more I'm not sure on.
This Wolves-Thunder game gets a 5 fire emoji treatment.
Wolf pups combine for 74 points. Too bad it didn't add up to a win. Why did LaVine only get 17 attempts?
It seems like he shot the ball more than 17 times.
Rubio and LaVine were in at the same time in the 4th quarter so Rubio was passing the ball around.
He played under 30 minutes.
He also made most of them. Had he missed a lot, I guarantee those attempts would have been much, much higher.

R. I. P. Walt "No-Neck" Williams, at age seventy-two.
Only 5'6"?? I looked more imposing on his baseball cards.
Would've been a pretty beefy 6-footer.
Where's his neck?
Pepper -- the eagle has landed. Can you drop me an email (address can be found here) so we can work out the details again? Thanks!
Qualifying rounds for next year's World Baseball Classic will be held next month. There are several Twins minor-leaguers on the Australian team.
NBBW got this strange awakening system called Aura, and we've been using it for a week.
