Been laid up at home caring for Sour Cream, who thankfully seems to have sidestepped pneumonia. I'm getting stir crazy.

Anybody else heading to Twinsfest this weekend? I'll be there with the wife and daughter on Saturday, probably early afternoon as Plouffe!, Bruno and Sano have autograph sessions between noon and 2pm.
Anybody attending that might be interested in grabbing a beer, give me a shout.
I haven't been since they left the dome. I think it got harder to score free tickets.
My excitement definitely waned once I scored my random-player game-used uniform and I noticed that the prices on even those went up a lot.
Last year was my first at Target Field and it is definitely different than at the Dome. Younger Daughter and I scored a few very low cost ASG leftovers that were okay, souvenir bats and pins and Glen Perkins bobbleheads and whatnot. I got a sweet Herb Carneal hat with "Hi Everybody" embroidered on the front for just a few bucks, that was probably my favorite find. I'm definitely a bargain shopper.
Yahoo opened fantasy baseball today, so I renewed our league. If you are interested in joining, please post below our email at robzk at Yahoo.
Also, there was some discussion last year about league settings and keeper settings. I am open to changes in either the categories or our keeper process, including starting over if it makes sense.
As I recall, at least one of the issues was having a set draft order (reverse of previous year's standings), instead of random.
Don't have any particular bones about any of the settings, but I'm not sure how many "expansion" teams we can take. Pickings are pretty slim on FA market as it is.
Can't be worse than the first year with 19 teams.
I recall Punto being a possibly less than useless player at one point.
I'm in.
Is it free? If so, I'd like in. My one league is close to folding, so I'm going to need something to take its place.
Only if you consider your time free.
This year I fully intend not to crash and burn in September. Felt like I was thiiiiiis close.
At least you made it to September. I think I only got to July or so.
I figured I'd shoot for an earlier demise this year.
I've been all-in for like 2 or 3 years in a row now, never quite making it. So close, every time. So close.
If my starting pitchers didn't drop like running backs, I'd've* had a chance
*Is this a thing? It should be.
*I've used such constructions in the past.
*I think you'd've heard if 'tweren't.
I've been reading King Lear and find myself thus m'ved for a lib'ral use of apostrophes.
I didn't realize King Lear was part of Infinite Jest
From the sounds of it, all the books I've ever read could be part of Infinite Jest.
I think it's just a couple of Pynchon books put together and then read backwards.
I'm definitely back.
Count me in.
The Dock Ellis Experience suits up for another year on tour.
Beer Advisory: Omission beers being served at your company social aren't an attempt to be Craft-y. They're gluten free.
The Lager wasn't bad. Pale Ale was...beer.
I'm thinking this will be of interest to a number of people here: Punderdome.
ohmygawdohmygawdohmygawdohmygawd...
"But it's really good for dads...."
About time Dad Humor got some market recognition.
So it turns out I might have pneumonia. I work in an hour and I just spent ten minutes throwing up. This house was on such a hot streak of not getting sick, but this week you'd be certain we all had the plague.
We feel your pain. Our 2 year old was diagnosed with rsv last fall and is still getting nebulizer treatment for it and our 2 month old was just diagnosed with it as well. Nothing like chronic respiratory sicknesses with infants...
Likwise. I have been sick all month. Just started a second round of antibiotics.
Saw a p.a. yesterday, who lifted my spirits by saying she just got over something similar, which lasted 3 months. w00t.
Zikas skeeters in Cali?
New spring training caps. Twins have 2. Both on a navy cap with a front panel a different color, one white with the TC outlined in white and then red with a red outline.
Poor Mets fans - yikes. And So'-siders, what the heck?
Awesome banner photog, Spooks. 'Zat J. Huston?
It's a pretty sweet shot, though you can probably credit hungry joe, who usually finds those images and often fits them to my CoCs.
As for the shot, it's actually Orson Welles.
I believe that Enes Kanter's spirit animal is Freddie Mercury.
Karl Anthony Towns only dropped a 32-12 line on Utah.
Too bad the Wolves lost.
At this pace, is there a chance they end up with another first overall pick? They're only 5 wins "better" than the worst place Lakers right now.
the Wolves have the fourth worst record in the NBA, 7 wins clear of Philadelphia.
Although it feels like the Wolves should have more wins.
man. ugh its tough being a Wolves supporter.
On the plus side, I think the if he Wolves are low enough, they dont have to give a first round draft pick to Boston (?) and it becomes a second rounder. And we all know how much Papa Glen loves paying salaries to those.
I believe its top-12 protected, if I'm not mistaken.
I'm in the "would prefer they win, to hell with the lottery" camp. I don't think they are a lottery pick away from competing, they just need competent GM'ing. That said, it'd soften the frustration if the losing brings about a PBO/coaching change. Of course, I don't have much hope in a competent coaching search, so, ugh, it really is tough to follow this team.
They messed up when they didn't go hard after Fred Hoiberg. They'll mess up when they don't hire David Blatt.
Considering how country clubby Hoiberg is, I wonder if they did make a good effort to get him, but it was never really possible because of his familiarity with how things are run up here... Each day that goes by without the announcement of a Blatt hiring is a failure if my opinion.
