My mom is visiting starting tomorrow, and she may even catch us in a state other than debilitating sickness.

Super Bowl Sunday sucks. No one wants to curl that day except for my team, so I'm stuck trying to find time to make up a game when there is dwindling open ice time. I found time this weekend, but forgot I was supposed to watch my boy during the day. Stupid bloodsports.
The first time I threw with the Chicago club was on Super Bowl Sunday. Only day they had openings to try.
That's a much better use of a Sunday, you ask me.
In between games, I saw a minute of the B.E.P.s performing. Could not get back out on the ice fast enough.
That might have been the last Super Bowl I ever watched, although we were at my mother-in-law's boyfriend's house and he's a weird and terrible person so, because I was just getting back into town after a spiel, did my absolute best to fall asleep until half time. We were able to excuse ourselves at that point because the B.E.P.s were especially horrendous.
Ahhh, memories.
We watch for the commercials. No other reason.
Ugg, I'll never understand this. People tune into an event... for the commercials? I mean, you're going to be seeing them for the next 6 months, so why set aside time to watch... commercials?
Wait, you mean there are commercials during other shows? I never watch live TV any other time, because Fast Forward.
also, nowadays you can go on-line the next morning and watch all the best ones

I know for a fact that the "best" ones are not the best ones.
That seems somewhat subjective for a fact.
Well, that's, like, your opinion, man.
Is it soap box Monday already? Seems like it was just last week!
I've done it, and I enjoy it. There's something to be said for participating in an event-viewing, even if it's just commercials. Yes, you'll see them again. Heck, you can see many of them beforehand. But it's bigger than the commercials themselves.

That's one of the most inane, American anecdotes I've ever heard.
Arguably, because it's a suggestion about communitarianism and not a bold assertion of individuality it's one of the most inane, least American anecdotes you've ever heard."
Linds and I always have a few people over to watch it. We make it a sort of potluck and drinks a few beers. The only one who really pays a lot of attention to the game is my loony Pats-fan of a best friend. It's a lot of fun (especially in year where the Pats lose).
We're in this ballpark as well. It's a good excuse to gather with people we don't see often enough.
I always watch it with my dad and brother. This year we're going to make a standing rib roast, so even if the game sucks it's going to be a real, real good night.
This Sunday for me is Ireland's Six Nations opener
This is a problem for me because carnival. Man. I may sneak into a bar to see some of the tilt, but then again I love a parade. Too many fun things to do.
What it needs is a float with huge tvs on it playing the Six Nations. Then you can just follow that along the parade route, drink in hand.
There ya go. Have to get the NOLA Rugby club on that.
I think I saw that one of the ESPNs is showing a game from the Caribbean Series Sunday afternoon.
I'm watching the game, drinking beer and eating party food. I'm old enough to remember watching the early Super Bowls with my dad and big brothers, so there's some nostalgia value in it for me.
EAR's birthday. So no, we won't be watching football.
Yes, it is First Monday. No, I don't have a book post put together and I don't think I'll be able to get one together at work.
If others feel so inclined, jump on it. Otherwise I'll write something up tonight (or maybe next week...)
Does it make any sense to watch this without watching "Breaking Bad"?
I'd say yes. It might even be cool to watch Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad.
Yeah, I don't think it'll make much of a difference. There's a few, "Ah, there's a nod to Breaking Bad" moments but it's absolutely not necessary to watch it first.

Nice!
"Better Call Saul" is now on Netflix.
