Sounds like the Royals are playing "Twins Baseball 2016".
I hope the Duffeyball isn't just smoke and mirrors. It would be pretty nice to have a ground ball pitcher who can strike people out every now and again.
That was poor timing.
Outfield defense. Man.
golly gee wally
New ballgame
SANO
First of the year with runners on!
Come to think of it, between Sano, Plouffe and Park's 20 home runs (counting the one Sano just hit), 3 have come with runners on base. That seems...problematic.
I turned the game on just in time to hear Sano's two-run blast. Awesome!
The commentary during that at bat made it +++++++++++++++
Oh? Please elaborate.
Ragging on Sano for his slump and K's. As long as the Ks are coming at that rate, hit won't be there yada yada
I assume you're talking TV. Radio got on him for a bad route on one play, otherwise Dazzle still pretty much has his back (if you can believe that).
I get the impression that Dazzle understands that Sano is playing out of position and really should be at third. Whenever Sano played third base, Dazzle would comment about how much more comfortable he looked there.
He is quick to point out that he's still a work in progress, and that he's learning. That doesn't mean he shouldn't point out any miscues, and he does. It is nice that Dazzle isn't faulting Sano for the situation.
His K rate is down 0.2% from last year. His walks are down too, though they are more in line with what he had in the minor leagues.
It's a pet peeve, but I hate it when an announcer says a team or a manger was "forced" to do this or that. These are choices teams and managers make. They may be good choices. They may be the only reasonable choices. But they're still choices.
Is this Two-Out Jepsen pitching? I hope not...
TWINS WIN!!!!!!!
You'd get a buck if that were embedded (how do we embed those again?).
pay up, dude
HTML.
A Twins pitcher starter has more than one win!
I looked through the pitching game logs expecting to find a whole bunch of times the starter lost a W because the bullpen blew the save, but it only happened twice. I think it was Nolasco both times. All the other blown saves were blowing wins for other relievers. Still the Twins have 7 losses when they get a QS and this was just the second win by a SP when he did not get a QS.
Actually, Phil Hughes has had 2 leads blown for him as well. Missed that somehow.
Are those crickets I hear?
I wish. You're hearing a conference call :/
