Cory and Dazzle trumpeting the importance of productive outs for the umpteenth time.
Tie game!
But it seems like we lose a ton of runners trying to take an extra base on a throw to the plate.
Dazzle mumbling under his breath...it's one of those games.
Welcome back to Earth, Mr. Abad.
Good thing we've got 358 pitchers so that we can save our best ones for critical situations. This team finds more ways to lose. I doubt they could find more ways than if they were trying to lose. Once again, they could not end a losing streak at 1 game. They are now 1-4 in rubber matches. Twins spent all day with leadoff batters on base. Then a tie game and Abad gets the first 2 outs almost seemingly without even trying. Then he suddenly can't find the strike zone and walks the 7 and 8 hitters, which usually is really bad, but hey, he's now facing the No. 9 hitter, who also is left-handed. He finally gets ahead, then has a borderline curve called a ball, so let's just go ahead and throw a fastball down the middle of the plate. And we cap it off by letting Danny Santana hit with 2 outs and with Joe Mauer on the bench.
Whew. Can't go winning a game immediately after losing one.
Well, we're still four games ahead of the pace of the 1962 Mets, so we've got that going for us.
Due to a new found social life and general apathy towards this team I have skipped out on a lot of Twins games this year. I've probably missed as many games this year as the last 6 years combined.
Gross!
Dozed!
