Marianne Ihlen, noted "muse" of Leonard Cohen, passed away recently. This song is probably Top 25 "Time And Place" songs for me, which is likely why I haven't listened to it for a long time. Let's give it a spin, yes?

I'm curious about what exactly you mean by "time and place" in this context.
Meaning that this song takes me to a specific time and place, and by Top 25, I suppose that means the strongest ability to take me back to whatever time and place. I tend to avoid these kinds of songs though.
Unpleasant memories?
There are those too, but the weird thing for me is a lot of them bring me back to happy times in past. And that's always depressing to dwell on for some reason. As I've mentioned, I'm not a huge nostalgia fan.
While there are a number of songs that have similar power over me, I hadn't ever considered putting together a list. Now that I have, I'm not sure that I want to.
Most of the ones I can think of are not the best times and places.
Likewise.
I was hoping this was going to be in response to either AMR, HJ, or Pepper below.
Every time I listen to Monster Magnet's Dopes to Infinity, I'm back to reading The Heart of Darkness while convalescing a fever.
I think all three built on each other.
Sign O The Times is now inextricably linked with my recent Japan trip. I won't be able to listen to it anymore in a few months.
For me, the album Deep Forest is forever linked with reading And the Band Played On in my childhood bedroom in the middle of winter. I must've been about 16.
Deep Forest by Deep Forest? The one with the song "Deep Forest" on it?
That's most of what I remember about the album.
I was 18 with Dopes to Infinity and Conrad. It was winter. Part of this took place at a Boy Scout sledding outing (we stayed 2 nights in the cabin at Norseland Scout Camp, outside St. Peter).
Yup, that's the one. I had it on cassette; I didn't get any CDs until I was 17. Even then I didn't have my own player, so I had to go to the family room downstairs to listen.
years ago there was an app? website? (Deep Forest Editor?) that allowed you to sequence different Deep Forest sounds/beats; wish I could find that again
