And 1 packet of active dry yeast = 2.25 tsp. Good luck with your endeavors today, Citizens. Especially if they involve math.

Man oh man...three days off at Christmas. I'm filled with mirth.
Last night Runner daughter & Mrs. Runner completed their annual gingerbread house project, this time a whole (small) village. In a couple days, I get to perform my annual Godzilla reenactment.
Enjoy your Christmas Eve, Citizens, and drive safely if you're travelling.
I am working today, then off for 5 days. First time in 2 years I have taken more than 3 days off in a row. Scheduled to drive up to Warroad for girls high school hockey tourney Monday - Wed, and catch the tail end of a boys high school hockey tourney in Hibbing Wed and Thursday. Of course major snow and travel difficulties are in the forecast. My 12 hours of driving this week will probably extend to 20. Ugh.
Merry Christmas everyone!
and Chappy Chanukah!
Mom called. She said don't bother coming over for Christmas
unless you want to get a cold.
So, after work I guess I'll play some NBA2K12
My neighbors regifted me a print copy of The Complete America's Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook: 2001-2015. Thing is a beast, but will definitely supplant my previous go-to - Joy of Cooking - this one's just a far superior manual.
First recipe attempted (inspired in part by our CoC) Chewy Sugar Cookies, were a resounding success! Santa is really looking forward to more cookies. This is behind a paywall, but if you want, I'll copy out the recipe here - they came out looking as good as the ones in that stock photo.
ATK puts out good stuff, though I'm disappointed Chris Kimball left. We subscribe to Cook's Illustrated and have the big 2,000 recipe cookbook they put out a few years back.
I've read a little bit about that split--it sounds like a mess.
My Cook's Illustrated contribution today was a chocolate truffle tart. It wasn't the prettiest thing I've ever made, but the taste more than made up for the appearance. You gotta figure when a recipe involves 1.5 pounds of chocolate, there's just no way it won't be at least halfway decent.
This was after their board basically squeezed him out of the business he built. Nobody is a hero in this one.
I mean, they are basically complaining that he's building a new Christopher Kimball business. Shades of John Fogerty getting sued for plagiarism on his own songs.

It had been mentioned here (somewhere) that Kimball was no longer with the program. I was curious about it ... here's what ATK and Cooks Illustrated have to say about the matter. Woah.
