Gonna be a lot of folks working from home here on Friday and keeping to themselves over the weekend.

Okay, for realsies this time:
LAST CALL FOR DJs AND FKB POSTS.
just respond to this thread with any interest.
I'm also flexible WRT veejaying. If we have too many / someone misses the opportunity I can punt.
Oh hey, speaking of contributing to posts here, let's talk First Book Monday. DG and I have been sharing duties, but we're feeling like we could use another person or two or three to help out. Please reply here if you might be interested in occasionally putting up a book post. I figure I can email interested parties a week or so beforehand and we can see who has time to put something together for that month.
Hey I can post once a while.
Chargers to LA. Wait, nevermind because NFL.
San Diego will have just one major professional sports team. Wow.
I don't get how this makes sense financially for the Chargers, NFL, or the Rams. But then I'm not a multi-billionaire either, so it must be beyond my comprehension.
Government handouts?
And by government, you mean taxpayers.
Not San Diego ones though. Nice job, guys.
I didn't think the Chargers are getting any extra money from LA taxpayers? I know they've tried their hardest to shake down the SD taxpayers, but unless I missed something all this gives them is the ability to say they play in a bigger media market and by sharing a home with the Rams maybe it doesn't cost them as much as building their own stadium.
Overall, it seems like lately sports teams are losing the taxpayer funding war. The Rams are getting tax breaks but no direct funding. Oakland hasn't done anything big to keep the Raiders and haven't given the A's really anything either. SD decided not to give money to keep the Rams. If the NBA or NHL comes to Seattle, it looks like the most they'll get from the city is some tax breaks and land permits.
I kind of wonder if the Vikings will wind up being one of the last teams to get so much money from the government. Well, I can hope at least.
think you mean StL not giving money, not SD
I'm wondering if the combined home wins of the Rams and Chargers aren't going to be less than some other single team's home game wins
I meant Chargers actually, but forgot to add that StL didn't give the Rams money.
StL would have given the Rams money, but they were unwilling to give Stan Kroenke money.
Easy to get them confused. Almost the same color scheme and helmet concept. When I was a kid I thought they were the same team.

The fine citizens of the Atlanta metropolitan area would like to have a word with you.
And Arlington Texas. The Rangers are getting a new park too. Because.... *shrug*

So much better than a
Driver of a normal car...
Oh, and one of my favorites
My wife just texted me to tell me Trey's baseball game has been cancelled today. I asked her if that was because they couldn't find a boat to get the team to the game.
The Wild scored a week's worth of goal tonight against the Habs. Should I start believing this team is legit good?
the week before the playoffs.
Something about that feels very Minnesotan. I wonder what the end result will be?
